Default Ferning after ovulation

I just thought I would throw this question out and see if anyone has any knowledge about it...I use the CBE F.M. to detect ovulation but this month I started using a mini ovulation microscope to look at the patterns of my saliva. If you take a peek at my chart, you will be able to see my patterns of ferning for this cycle. The days that are blank I didn't do a saliva test.

Here's my question -- Anyone know about ferning AFTER ovulation. I know the ferns indicate elevated amounts of estrogen in your bodies but what does it mean? Could I still have a chance to be PG this cycle?

Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks a million, Meg

I quit charting and using my microscope before I got pregnant so I dont know what that cycle actually looked like with temps and ferning. I know that when I was charting I had ferning or partial ferning a few days when I started my cycle, then around O I would have partial ferning and maybe a day or two of full ferning and often times after O I would have a day or two of full ferning and a few days of partial ferning although not everyday. I felt like It was too hard to figure out the ferning pattern I had. I finally stopped everything- charting, temping, ferning but still used the OPK's and FINALLY got my BFP. I would say there is definitely still a chance you could be pregnant. I think I remember reading that often times there will be ferning at the end of a cycle when there is a pregnancy present. Good luck to you. I hope you get your BFP ASAP!

Dito to these girls, I don't know much about ferning. Your chart looks good. It all depends on if you timed your bd'ing right.

Thanks for your responses Missy and Teece.
How am I feeling you ask? Well lemme tell ya...I am feeling anxious to know, I am feeling like I have a few "signs" that I will only be able to confirm after the fact, such as I have a dark blue vein visible through my L areola, I am having very watery CM, no zits like I usually have by now, I guess that's it.

My hopes are sort of peppered with the fact that I really don't know what to expect for this cycle as we tried 2 new things this time around -- a progesterone supplement from my Dr, and some extra B6 (300 mgs) every day of my cycle. I know that both of these things can potentially lengthen the LP if you're not pg.

So all that being said, I am very hopeful but cautiously so.

I tested negative at 10 and 11 DPO,
And now I can't sleep which is a bummer.
I'm going to test again in the morning (ie in about 4 or 5 hours)
12 DPO today and this is my usual LP. WE shall see what happens today. I hope if I am not pg that AF is not too delayed so I can start a new cycle. Anyone have much experience with proesterone? I am taking one called Prochieve it is a suppository.

OK ladies, you all are the best. Thanks for listening, and info is great...love having this place for support!!!

ALSO...I just thought of one more "sign" i've been feeling the past few days and I'm wondering what you think...my belly (I don't know if it's literally my uterus) feels *full*. It just feels almost really bloated and tight (though sadly I don't know if I'd call my belly "tight") LOL

But seriously, I feel *full* in my low abdomen.

I do hope it is a sign of sorts but at the same time I wonder if it is just that my lining is so much thicker from the progesterone that is making it feel full down there.

Well ladies, temps slightly down this morning and a negative test.

I'm trying real hard to stay positive but find that familiar sadness creeping back in through the cracks

Meg, I am so sorry that you had the negative test this morning, but your temps are still in a good place and I wouldn't lose hope yet! You have so much to be hopeful for right now! I am hoping that you are still a day or two away from your . It's not over till it's over, right?

But if things don't go your way this time, remember that there is still time and you are learning more about your cycle and what will bring you a bfp. You added b6 and progesterone this time, that's fantastic! Just keep trying because you, me, all of us deserve to know what it's like to have a bfp and to be pregnant and to be mommies. You'll get there, just keep persisting.

Thanks Girls...
You honestly can't imagine how much your words have helped me.
And you're totally right.
I have tons to still be hopeful for...if not this time then maybe next month.
It's so true that each month that goes by I learn something about my cycles and my body which can only be good.

Thank you again for your support...this is such a great place and you women are so wise.

XXX, Meg
