hello everyone!! my name is kim and im 25 yrs old. my dh and i have been trying to conceive for about 1 month (although, in essence, you could say about a year and a half due to the fact that we never used birth control). diagnosed with PCOS in Aug. 2003. take metformin 1000mg x 2/day. cycles about 35-40 days apart. lately have been about 35-36 days. i am just starting my very first round of clomid, not feeling very optimistic about it either, from seeing all the UNsuccess stories. i am also about 50-75 pounds over weight and am currently trying to lose weight, 15 pounds lost so far. i have the hirsutism really really bad, acne isnt so bad thanx to clean and clear. i only get the big period pimple now. i have the dark patches on my cheeks and in the places where skin rubs. (i am african american with light brown/caramel skin). despite all this i have been able to "obtain my femininity" so to speak. never been pregnant to my knowlegde. except i mght have had had a chemical pregnancy once according to my gyno at the time. i was 21 and 50 pounds lighter and i wasnt taking any meds ( i had gotten tired of the metformin). im actually glad ididnt conceive then b/c the man in my life at that time was not a very good person. anywho, i am on the first round, day 1 of the clomid 50mg and its day 5 of my cycle. i am so scared b/c i want it to work. i have an appt on 4/21/08 to see if i O'd, which coincidently is also my VERY fertile sister's birthday. she also has pcos but after losing about 125 pounds, she has really become a baby making machine and to top it off she doesnt even gain weight when she's pregnant, maybe 10 pounds at the most. back to the subject at hand. the only thing i am concerned about as far as the ultrasound appt goes, is that my cycles are NOT 28 days they are more around 35-36 days so if a woman usually O's about mid cycle i believe i should be going maybe between 4/26-4/29. but i will listen to my doc as he has help MANY i mean MANY women with pcos to conceive. im sorry for rambling as i tend to go off at a tangent at times. but basically i am looking for any info, success stories, or if anyone is in the same boat with me, or some encouragement, anything is appreciated thanx in advance

Hello and welcome...I am pretty new to this whole scene too. But since I have been here I have found the ladies to be polite, honest, and very helpful. I lurk a lot since I rarely have time to post but the ladies here are great from what I have seen. I hope you start to enjoy it here are good luck with your journey.
