I have not posted on this message board, I am usually on the clomid board or TTC boards.
My name is Crysti, my husband and I have been trying to conceive for 2 years. Started out the 15 months going to the dr. and getting metformin and clomid because I have PCOS. I was on 150 mg of clomid for a year, without a break. Didn't think this was right, which come to find out later when i went to a specialist that it's not good at all.
I have had PCOS since puberty and I have never in my life ovulated on my own.
So after 15 months of complete frustration I went to a specialist we heard about from our friends who got pregnant with twins after 9 years of trying and going through IVF. My first visit with the Dr. went so smooth, he pretty much from the moment he saw my chart and medical history already knew i had PCOS. I ahd to take a lot blood tests, and within the first three months i was in regularly getting checked on, blood tests, getting medication etc.
When I was going to my Gynecologist he never did an HSG on me so he didn't know if my tubes were blocked or not and he was just giving me clomid, complete waste of money for us. The specialist we saw immediately wanted to do an HSG to rule anything else out. Had my HSG done and I saw the Xrays with my own two eyes, they were blocked, and one of the tubes had been all twisted and out of wack. Dr. wasn't thrilled with what he saw so we tried a few more things, he kept checking on me to see if anything had changed, blood work, etc. Nothing was changing so he decided to do surgery. I had laparoscopic surgery on september 12th of this year. The Dr. had told us that he was going in to clear out my tubes, fix them as much as possible and to burn holes in my ovaries to lower my testosterone and help me to have a normal AF on my own and to ovulate on my own. My surgery was to last 4 hours. after an hour and fifteen minutes into surgery the dr. went out and told my husband i was done. He told my husband that i am fine, my tubes are completely open and nothing is blocking them at all. I had "textbook" tubes and he would give them a "10". How amazing is that!!?? My husband and i saw with our two eyes what my tubes looked like, they weren't pretty.
Well who would have thought I would be as excited

as I was on October 6th when I started AF on my own. Then on day 13 the dr. did an ultrasound and right away he said I had some huge follicles, gave me a trigger shot and made sure i understood the prescription for the next two days BDing.
Well here we are waiting to see what happens. If it doesn't happen this month I am fine with that, but I am so excited the surgery worked and can't wait to see what the future holds.
Anyhow thats my story. =)
