Default i'm new here..long..

hi! i'm kelli (24)..married to the man of my dreams for a month now..i have 4-year old twin girls from a previous marriage and they are the loves of my life (along with kenneth).

we are not technically 'ttc' but we aren't going to be preventing it..and i wanted to go ahead and join so i can read others experiences.

a little history:
i had/have fertility issues..took over 15 months to get pregnant with the girls due to the fact i didn't ovulate. i ended up taking clomid (the first round) and got pregnant with the girls in march 2003. perfect pregnancy and i carried the girls 39 weeks and 4 days.

we decided due to my previous problems and the fact i was still having irregular cycles (35-60 between periods) and my blood work i had been having drawn every few months showed no ovulation or super poor ovulation that we'd not use protection and just see what happened.

we were really hoping to try in may when i graduate (i'm in school to be an RN). but much to our great surprise, i found out i was pregnant on december 3 2007. i was 6 weeks according to my lmp. we were estatic!

at 9 weeks, i was hearing the heartbeat with the doppler at home, and by 10 weeks i could no longer find it. at 11 weeks (jan 15 this year) i had an ultrasound and we found out the baby had passed away the week prior. i had known all along, but the u/s confirmed it. so i had a d&c last wednesday, jan 16. i'm still torn up about it, but i know it happened for a reason.

we dont know what my cycles are going to be like this time..i only bled for 2-3 days after the d&c and it was spotting. and even though the dr said wait two weeks to have sex, we waited a week.

we discussed it and we are going to not use protection again and just see what happens. i'm hoping my body doesnt go back to not ovulating again. and i have no idea how long it will be before i actually have another period..

anyways, i just thought i'd stop by and say hi. and any insight to getting pregnant after a miscarriage will be great!

Welcome!!

It is different for everybody getting pregnant after a m/c. I, too, bled very little after my d & c, but my dr. said that was normal. I don't ovulate regularly too, so it took me 3 months of charting to convice my dr. I wasn't ovulating. She tested me for PCOS, and it came back positive. So with that diagnosis she started me on metformin, the lowest dose, and that got me to ovulate right off the bat. We got pregnant that cy and had my daughter Jailee. This time I didn't take the metformin, and had to partially wean my daughter and I o'd all on my own. So it can happen!!

I hope you are able to get pregnant again quickly since that sounds like what you want! Good luck and ask lots of questions here. We aren't the busiest board, but we do check in quite often!!
