Icon10 Grads Thread #53 (Preg. and Babies Ment.)

Grads post your updates, belly pics anything related to your pregnancy here and only place them here to be considerate to those TTC. ALSO post here about your babies if you have a baby.

If you're not a grad feel free to post well wishes, questions, anything to the grads here and only in this post and not elsewhere on the board!!

This thread was created to keep our grads feeling comfortable on this board to update us on their pregnancies without having multiple pregnancy related posts on this TTC Board.

Grads ~ Please remember to update the stats thread on your Due dates along with any other important info, so they can be posted in our 20 Something important info thread.

Kimi- Sorry you got all excited, then they were too booked to take you! What a bummer about your dr being out of town this week. Going into labor on your own will be so much different than being induced--I think it is so much more exciting. I just wanted to send a cyber-hug and leave this little piece of encouragement: My baby that made me wait the longest to finally be born (41w1d) was my shortest labor (3.5h). Sending happy, empowering, exuberant labor vibes your way! We can't wait to hear the wonderful birth story and see pics of Jarrett when he does make his appearance.

Amie- Thanks; I love the name, too! I can't believe I'm over halfway either!

Sam- Sorry AF found you! I love that picture of Zander in your sig--he looks like such a happy baby!

Kimi I'm so sorry you have to wait longer. Try some eggplant parmesan. I think that is what it was. I saw something on tv supposedly eggplant will make the pregnant ladies go into labor. Here I actually found something on SK Pregnancy - Birth: Labor and Delivery: Labor Induction: Can these recipes jump-start labor? at Pregnancy & Baby I really hope you go into labor soon.

Jessica Congrats on the weight loss. I have Zero motivation. Glad you guys are doing good.

Jill how are the girls doing?

Patty how is Miss Taylor?

MMM, that eggplant parmesan sounds delicious. Wish I lived closer so I could go there and eat it, instead of making it. I don't think I have the patience to make it myself.

Charlotte, hope your next appt goes great!

Darci, a 3.5 hr labor?? That sounds definately worth waiting for! I looked up black cohosh today, but I don't think I'm ready to go that far. Going into labor naturally sounds so good, but check back with me when i'm a few more days overdue. I'm actually hoping for Thursday. Not because It's Valentines day, but becuase my mom is off work, and then DH could have a nice long weekend with me and baby Jarrett. I'd, of course, make him take off Thursday, and then make him take off Friday to help me get home and such. So then he'd have a long weekend. And that's the day after my appt with the other dr. so he'll strip my membranes, again. Maybe that would get it going. 3rd stripping could be the charm right?

Kimi -- if it can make you feel better you aren't even due based on the French system (41.5 weeks)
Just a quick update on us -- The girls are doing really well. Alison is 7.5, Sami 4.5, and Leďla is amlost 18 months already! She still isn't walking, but the ped isn't worried at all, she has the muscle tone, the balance and is physically capable but just doesn't have the desire to do it. What a stinker. She is still tiny, 21lbs and 31.5 inches, bust she is such a happy and content baby. I have some recent pictures of the girls on my blog (link in my siggy) Need to go and workout now! Hope are all the other preggers doing??????

Jill, so glad I'm not in the french system!! Pregnancy seems to last long enough, but 41.5 weeks! ACK!

Kara, we've DTD just as much as when we were TTC, and it's not working. It's a fun thing to try, way better than Castor Oil, but after awhile it just becomes something else to do. Especially with a big belly! Lauren is looking so grown up! What a cutie!

Yes, 3.5 hours. I wouldn't want to do it again, really, because it was really hard to stay on top of the contractions. It was my first non-induced labor and I was devastated to hear that I was only 3 cm upon arriving at the hospital after an hour and a half of sudden, hard labor. I worried that this was the "easy" part and that I'd never be able to handle the hard part. They hemmed and hawed about whether or not to keep me, even. An hour and a half after arriving, I was telling everyone I was going to die and decided that I wanted the epidural. The nurse checked me to see if I was dilated enough to get it (I had to be at least 4). I was 9.5 cm. The MW came in and asked if she could break my water instead of getting an epidural. I agreed. she left after that and after one more contraction I told Corey to get her back!! she came running in, yelling for me not to push while she washed her hands. I was sitting/squatting on the bed and she ran over pulling on gloves and the nurse put the mask thing on her. They didn't have time to get her gown on or to "break down" the bed. I pushed once, and she was out. I had my very first contraction at 1:35 AM and Presley was born at 5:03 AM. It was a hard, fast labor. I actually much preferred my third labor, which was more than twice as long, but was much easier to handle, IMO.

Well, we are living proof that everyone with children who have someone else keep their children NEED A NANNY CAMERA!!! The past 48 hours at the Addison residence has been interesting.

I went back to work Jan 2 full time. We hired Stephanie to come into our home and keep Gavin and Bryce until they are strong enough to go to daycare in May. From what we could tell she was great. References all checked out as well as no criminal activity on her record. She seemed to really enjoy coming to work and love the babies. We trusted her, we liked her a lot and we THOUGHT she was good with the boys.

There had been some questions on my part if she was doing as I had asked, tummy time and playing with the boys. Also several things were out of place and they were things she shouldn't have been getting into (in our room). Still, we trusted her. BUT we decided to get a nanny cam to check up on her.

Two weeks ago we invested $330 in the Nanny Spy Cam purchased from this site. Check it out, it's really cool. It's a digital clock and you would never know it was a camera. We could also log on remote at work and check up on our babies and our nanny.

Award Winning Surveillance System / Best Nanny System on the Market!

Nanny Cam arrived on Friday, February 8th. I installed it and it was in use Monday when Stephanie arrived. I couldn't wait to get to work and see what was going on in my house just to prove to myself and Mike that Stephanie was a good nanny for our boys. NEVER in a million years did I expect to see what I saw.

FIRST OF ALL, the boys are OK and weren't "abused" or hit. Just put in bad situations that could harm them and handled poorly. Thankful for that!!!

Here are the highlights!!! She man-handled the boys, picked them up by their arms and clothes, threw them down roughly on the sofa and other surfaces. She hardly held them and basically sat her fat butt on our sofa eating everything she could get her hands on in our house. Her eyes were glued to the TV and she had the remote in her hands at all times. So much so that she dropped Bryce while she was changing channels and didn't pick him up until she found what she wanted to watch. She picked her nose and ate her boogers, she ate ice cream out of the container with her fingers, drank from the milk and juice containers in the fridge, drank from the nursery water used to make bottles and microwaved Gavins bottle and gives it to him untested. The best one…Bryce puked on her no doubt because she didn't burp him ever and instead of calling me to ask about something else to wear she strips down to her bra and panties and walks around the house like that while her clothes wash and dry. She did eventually wrap up in a blanket but sat around our house all day half naked.

I came straight home and fired her on the spot. She never denied what she did and actually tried to make excuses such as "It's not like they are fragile" "It's not like their heads were bobbing around" "It's not like they weigh 50lbs" "I always pick up babies like that"
She is gone, good riddance!!! Lesson learned!!!

We called the police, the office came out and took a report and today a juvenile officer came out and viewed the tapes too. She is going to interview Stephanie and get her story although the tapes say it all. We aren't pressing charges because this wasn't abuse but the officer thinks that we need to prevent her from keeping anyone else's children, especially babies. So they are going to bring her in to the police station and basically scare her. The DA might decide to press charges but we won't, we will only give the videos and testify if need be. Her record will now show this complaint and she shouldn't be able to keep kids again…EVER!!!

Just wanted to let you all know what was going on around here. Crazy, almost like a dream or I felt like I was watching someone else's life not my kids in my living room.

Oh my goodness, Linds!! I am so sorry for your little guys and I can't believe the audacity of that woman!! My sister nannied all through college and she was so careful about everything she did, so concientious with her charge... I just can't imagine being in someone else's home and eating ice cream with my fingers or walking around half-nude, much less mistreating the children I was being paid to take care of!! I wish I lived closer to you, because I would keep your boys for you! I never eat my boogers and I don't drink nursery water, either. My goodness. What was she thinking!??! I'm glad you got the camera and I'm really glad you got the police involved so she won't be able to mistreat anyone else's babies!
What are you going to do now? Are the boys big/well enough to go to daycare at this point?

Lindsay I can not not believe someone would treat a baby/ babies like that, she had no respect for you or your boys. I would have raised the roof.

I hope everyone has a good Valentine's Day.

OMGoodness OMGoodness Linds. I can't believe she would think that is appropriate care for your babies. Does she have kids of her own? I wouldn't think that she would, children are miracles, and after all you've gone through to have your babies, why would you EVER think that is an okay way to have your babies taken care of. The unsafe Gavin videos are what got me the most, she just kept walking by him and didn't even go to pick him up. After they are a month old or so, leaving them laying on elevated surfaces isn't a good idea, they could roll over for the first time at any time. OMG. I can't believe that. I am so glad that you have a nanny cam, and I'm so glad she was only there for about 6 weeks. 6 weeks too long, now that you know what you know, but at least it wasn't longer. My heart hurts for you, seeing your babies taken care of like that. I hope you can find a PERFECT nanny now, and this doesn't happen again. I remember you saying that the spring was going to be when they could go to your daycare at work. Linds. I hope everything works out.

On my side note..... X-Posted from my DIBoard
Same song, second verse.....I'll be induced tomorrow at 6:30am, if there's room at the hospital. And if I don't go into labor on my own. Dr stripped my membranes, again for the 3rd time. The good news, 4 cm and 85% effaced. He said he'd be surprised if I didn't go into labor on my own before then, but then again, he said he was surprised to see me again, he thought I would have delivered by now. He did say he "stripped me good" and he hoped that would make it happen. So we wait for tomorrow morning and hopefully the phone won't ring first thing, it rang last time at 5:45 to tell us not to come. I almost feel like unplugging the phone!

I don't get him, the Dr. I saw today, to induce me tomorrow, because he's flying out of here at 4am to go to a conference. LOL, what's with the Dr's I see leaving me??? My regular Dr. is at a conference in Hawaii and won't be back until Sat/Sun-ish. So, I get to have the other female dr. in the office, she's great too. She delivered my cousins' baby last May, and did both of my friends C-Sections.

As long as nobody fills up L&D I might actually get a baby tomorrow!! He did say, statistically, it wouldn't be much longer. He said very few pregnancies reach 41 weeks, which is Saturday for me. With my luck, I'd be one of the few to reach 41 weeks.

for an empty L&D tomorrow!

Hello guys! Don't know if you remember me or not- but I was around this board when I was ttc..pretty much each pg. I actually just wondered today about how Lindsay's little ones were doing (they were born as I was ttc this last time) and thought I'd come over and see if there was a recent update....

What a SHOCK!!!

Lindsay~ I am SO SORRY that this happened in your home, to your little boys! I 2nd the pp who said that they don't know how you restrained yourself! I was saying the same thing as I watched those videos, eyes bugged out, mouth on the floor. I just can't believe any of it....people are just....something!

The most important thing is that your children are safe...and that she has been removed from having contact with them. Hopefully something will be done with her so that she is unable to be left alone with anybody's children EVER. I do just want to say WTG to you and your DH for following your instincts. Even though she *seemed* great you listened to your inner voice and that was what saved your little ones from something (else) terrible happening. Good for you!

And, it's good to see that Gavin and Bryce are thriving and having a wonderful 1st year (aside from this incident...). I'm so happy to see that they are doing so well and getting so big!

Linds- OMG---I cant believe that some people think it OK to man handle a baby....are you sure its OK to post that online as she may have charges pressed and that may be evidence in a court case???

Kim- come on girl..this has got to be torture!! I am hoping that you are in labor now at the hospital
