a few questions from a newbie

Hey!!

I have a few questions that I hope ya'll can help me out with.

I am 27 and TTC for the first time. This is my first month off Birth control and should have started my cycle yesterday or today but I haven't.

I took a HPT on Wednesday but it was negative so here my question....is it too early to take another one?? Should I wait a few more days until maybe Sunday and then test again?? I have no clue what to think right now...

I know its possible to get pregnant the first month you are off BC but how often does that really happen???

I'm not sure how often people get pg right off bcp's but I know that it can take some time for your body to adjust being off the pill. You may not get your period for another day or week. I would wait it out and then maybe test next week. :gl

Just a little information about bcp..when i came off of them-YEARS AGO..it took like 6-8 months for my cycle to start...then another 4-5 months to get regular..Well, to be honest, they haven't been regular since. But anyways, dont waste too much money on the HPTs just because you're late....BCP will do that to you in a heartbeat. Well, that's just my past experience. I'd make a doctors apointment if I were you. Either way, good luck to ya!!!!! Hope your stay here is short

Not much else to add unforunately. But I second the suggestion to maybe wait out another week before testing again. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. I'll just wait another week or so before I worry about it.

I was just a little worried because one of my friends got pregnant the first month she was off BCP and she's been freaking me out. I really expected it to take me months to even think I was pregnant.

When I got pg the first time it was my first cycle off BCP so it can happen. If no AF shows in a week or a few days if you can't wait I would test again.

I, too, got preg my first cy off bcp. So test again in a week. I had to do the same thing. The first test when AF was due, was negative, and the HPT package said to retest in a week if AF didn't come, and I did, and it was positive.
