Default Anti Depressants and TTC

Hi everyone!
I have 2 children Carson 5 1/2 and Alissa is 3. DH and I are considering trying for one more. I have to check with my DR's first because I am on an anti depressant. Does anyone here take them or know someone who does that is TTC? I have read several different things but am interested in hearing from real people. Thanks!
Kristi

i have struggled with depression for many years, i hate prescription pills, i tried many and suffered moderate to sever side effects, mostly weight gain, and no lebido. i recently started taking B12 and a B complex for assistance in weight loss, and i recently found out it also helps depression, and i really thought about it and i think i have felt better the last few weeks, i asked my husband and he agreed i have been easier, and more mellow, less anxiety attacks. you may want to discuss with your doctor, if you have to come off the anti-depressants perhaps going on a B12 vitamin.

Kristi,

I went off of all my anti-depressants because I wanted to TTC. The reports are are mixed as to what the outcome of taking certain meds while pregnant. Most doctors will weight the potential risks to the developing fetus to the benefits it gives the mother.
What I've done to combat my anxiety & depression is acupuncture and also AlanaMarie suggested the B-complex vitamins. B vitamins are your "stress reducer" vitamins. If you increase you're intake of them you'll be feeling much better (and benefiting baby too!)
I strongly urge you to see your doctor and discuss the type of anti-depressant you are on. Some are "safer" than others.

Best of luck to you!
