My mom called me this evening and told me that they flew my niece to St. Louis for medical treatment. Molly was 2 lb and 4 oz when she was born and now she is nine months old and weighs 11 lbs. She was having retractions and very labored breathing. The docs said that she has a partial collapsed lung and a mucus plug. I just go off the phone with my mom and they are transfering Molly to the ICU step-down unit. I can't go and be with them because I live in MI and they are in IL, which is a 7 hour drive. Please keep my family and Molly in your prayers.
I talked to my sister-in-law and Molly is doing better. She keeps adding a "for now" at then end of telling me that she is better, which doesn't help my anxiety. They are going to keep her again tonight and do a test for cystic fibrosis in the morning. They think that it is asthma but because of the reoccuring infections they want to be certain. Thank you all for your prayers.
Molly is on her way home. They have discharged her this afternoon. She is off her oxygen and IV but they were going to send her home with some sort of machine. My SIL did not know what it was. She passed her Cystic Fibrosis test as far as I know. Thank you all for your prayers and support!
