Default MAY Chatty Thread

I just realized how strange I can be.

I want to conceive...badly. BUT my mind works in this messed up cycle.

During my period I keep thinking if I don't get my BFP this month I am going to start OPKs.

Then I start the baby dancing and get really optimistic.
It counts down closer to my testing date...and I want to order OPKs so they will be here next cycle BUT I don't want to waste the money just in case I get my BFP.
The witch comes and then I fell dumb for not ordering the friggen OPKs.
The cycle continues.

I have to laugh at myself but I am mad too. I am just cautious but I feel I might need the OPKs just to make sure I know when I Ovulate. I know that when we conceived Gabe I Ovulated on CD 14....but what if it changed since the MC?

Laugh with me...cry with me...whip my butt into shape.

Warning: Emily is about to push pee-sticks

You could do what I do, wait until AF shows up and reorder pee sticks. I order from a seller on eBay (youwannaknow), you pay $18.99 which includes shipping and you get a total of 50 OPKs and HPTs (I really don't go through that many in one cycle!). How many of each is totally up to you. The seller is located in Canada, but they ship either same day if you order early enough or next day if you order later and 3-4 business days later, there's a thick envelope full of pee sticks at your door. It breaks down to less than 40 cents for each peestick and they're the same strips that go into the store bought OPKs and HPTs, but with a lot less packaging (and you need a cup to pee in, but some women report fine results peeing right on the strips).

You probably already know this, but even a positive OPK does not mean that you will/did ovulate any particular cycle, it just tells you that your LH surged and you will likely ovulate.

Hopefully you won't need any more pee sticks after this cycle and you'll be like everyone else on OD who's turned up preggo in the last month. Going to be lots of New Years babies.

I second sitting on the washing machine, fun times

Best of luck with everything.

I'm thinking if it doesn't happen for Joe and I this cycle, I'll be moving on to BBTs. It's going to be a pain in the rear with my really screwed up sleeping schedule, but could give more of a clue as to whether or not I'm actually ovulating each cycle. I'm reasonably sure I was annovulatory last month. At least with taking temps, it's a one-time purchase for a basal thermometer.

I've gained some weight in the last few weeks (enough to go up a half size), so I'm hoping that'll help boost my fertility just enough and maybe make my cycles a bit more regular

How's it going with the new kitties in the house?

Our kitties are noisy little devils. Mama is doing great although she ants us to take her and the babies in every room we move to.

Hope you get tour BFP soon...I dont think I could do BBT because I am too forgetful

I only have one crybaby kitten in the house, can't imagine 3 new babies and mama crying. Sounds like she really loves you though

Eh my cat does love me but she has always been an attention whore.
She refuses to leave anyone alone that enters are home.

Your fur babies are cute, I love when you post pics of them on your diary.
