Our first week we did a 3 day safari in Masaai Mara Nat'l Park, it's on the Kenya/Tanzania border. We saw tons of zebra, warthogs, buffalo, elephants, girafees, and a lioness eating a lion after killing it. We didn't get there until after the kill, but caught it on video/film eating it. You could even hear her crunching on the bones. It was gross, but some awesome at the same time.
The second week we did a 3 night trip to Mt. Kenya. The first night we stayed in this hotel that looked like Noah's Ark. It was in Aberdare Nat'l Park. There's a salt pond (man made) to attract the animals. We didn't see to many though. Mainly african cap buffalo and elephants, along with some warthogs. The second night we stayed at this lodge called Sweetwaters. It was awesome, because it was different. The rooms were luxury tents, they looked sort of like bungalows. And the animals were right there. Of course they had an electric fence so that they wouldn't harm the people staying there. But right across the fence there was the watering hole and in the morning during breakfast we saw zebras and girafees and warthogs all getting drinks. It was so neat how they all co-live without a care, but I guess none of them eats the other being there all vegans. We went to a Rhino sancuary and we got to pet a Rhino (which was awesome!!) we got that on video and I got to pet a warthog (DH took photos of that). The warthog was so used to humans. She laid right on her back with belly in the air. I scratched on side of her and she rolled over and wanted the other side scratched too. IT was so neat!! Just like pumba, from the Lion King. The 3rd night we stayed at Mt. Kenya Safari Club, it was really exclusive. We were just told to relax and enjoy the scenery, which was so beautiful. In the morning there was a clear view of Mt. Kenya, it was breath taking.
The third week we spent 5 nights in Mombasa, which is a coastal city. We had tons of fun. Of course the resort had planned activities like beach volleyball, etc. which were tons of fun! We also jet skiied and DH and some of his friends did the banana boat. Now that was fun to watch. Oh BTW on of DH's friends from high school and his friend's cousin met us down there the day after we got there. Since they are still living in Kenya, not living in Mombasa, but the friend is down there every couple of month for work he knew his way around. We did go out every night. I had drank beer since a year or so after we got married. And there was this cocktail bar called j.d. (just drinks)... OMG the cocktails were to die for and it was a small corner bar not very many ppl there, very nice place though.
The fourth week we stayed with his family at home. Did a lot of socials. I met so many cousins and aunts and uncles and friends of the family. It was awesome! Everyone got along so well and I seemed to mix with everyone too. Language wasn't a barrier, which was a huge plus. We did attend a luncheon (for a wedding) and the wedding, which was an Indian wedding. It was a huge wedding, so many ppl and very beautiful. We had been to an Indian wedding in the states, it was one of DH's friends, but it was nothing compared to this one.
It was sad to leave. I even cried (can't believe it). After being somewhere for so long you just get used to it. We left Tuesday (8/2) around midnight. Had a stop over in London on 8/3 for 8 hours, did some socials and visited one of DH's aunt's (she came to our wedding so she's very special to me). We spent that night in Boston, pasted out as soon as we got to the hotel, without any dinner or anything. Just to sleep in a real bed instead of a seat was all I needed. Then we got home on 8/4 in the evening. That same day was our 4th wedding anniversary, we ended up celebrating on Sunday with a nice dinner out. Too tired to do anything when we got home.
I'll post pictures when I get them developed. I still have to take the film to the store. I know, I know I'm slacking big time. But the amount of film is going to be a LOT of $, but I don't want to put it of for too long.

I didn't know that I had typed that much. Enjoy!
