Hi, Amanda! Good luck on ttc #5!! I have 6 kids. You mentioned meals, my 12 year old son does alot of cooking. In fact, he made pancakes this morning and hamburgers for lunch. He loves to cook. That helps me out alot! I cook alot of simple things, nothing fancy. "Taste of Home" and "Quick Cooking" are great cooking magazines that I use for recipes and ideas. Can't wait to hear more from you! Are you currently ttc? Your last baby and mine are pretty close in age. Garrett was born Dec 29, 2003.

well i mean affording food LOL.. i definately am teaching my oldest to help me cook! but while we aren't poor persay.. i worry about making sure theres always food on the table to feed the kids. my husband makes 17 an hour which isn't bad at all for this area. We tithe to church, pay a mortgage, pay bills.. and right now theres no struggle to get food on the table but i know one day they will become teenagers with bottomless pits for sstomaches lol.. Do you ever run out of food? what are meals that fill the belly without breaking the pocketbook?

Amanda--Hi! that is amazing that your two were exactly a year apart! How cool! That is neat that ours are so close, too. Garrett was due in January, if he had been born then I would have had all 6 in different months, now I have 2 in Dec (my first daughter, born in 1993). Oh, well! Have to save up for December with 2 birthdays and Christmas!

As far as buying food--I guess you can always buy in bulk if you have room to store it. I used to have a membership to Sam's club. Sometimes I ended up spending more money there, though, so I don't really have any great tips. My son is 12 and can definitely eat us out of house and home! I like to buy fruit, too, and that gets expensive. Maybe in Florida I will be able to get cheaper fruit.

I agree, buying in bulk is a good idea, if you can keep from getting carried away with it Thats how my MIL does it (9 children + wive and 2 dh's)
