Not looking for specific numbers/facts here.......just some general questions that I am pretty sure alot of you get asked due to having/planning large families.

I am sure people comment about money issues like what your dh (and/or you) does for a living to support a large family......

What kind of vehicles do you all drive? We are getting tapped out for space.

What do you do for grocery shopping, like money wise/how often/etc?

What do you do to cut corners and make money stretch....we use alot of coupons, I shop at some great resale stores, I buy in bulk, etc

How big is your house? We are preparing to put an addition on our home next spring....

I guess that's nosy enough for now........LOL

people comment about money issues like what your dh (and/or you) does for a living to support a large family...... My dh and I farmed in Iowa for 14 years, now we are going to start a small tractor dealership in Central Florida

What kind of vehicles do you all drive? We are getting tapped out for space.We have a Ford Excursion, filled to the gills
What do you do for grocery shopping, like money wise/how often/etc?I go once a week to Super Walmart, have found that to be the cheapest here. I used to shop at Sams Club quite a bit, haven't renewed my membership.
What do you do to cut corners and make money stretch....we use alot of coupons, I shop at some great resale stores, I buy in bulk, etc I also buy secondhand & in bulk.
How big is your house? We are preparing to put an addition on our home next spring....We have 4 bedrooms, noone has a room of their own (except my oldest ds right now, but he will have to share with my other ds when he is older).

Of course, thats what they always ask! I tell them he is an engineer and semi-retired and I am a nurse.

I now have a nice new 15 passenger Dodge Van.

I shop clearance and discontined shelves, price compare in the Sunday ads, use coupons and items on sale "in store, with card" etc.

I am the clearance sale Queen, I price compare, hunt and peck on ebay and thrift stores as well as accepting hand me downs when offered or asked.

We bought this house as a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath and turned the giant 12 course walkout basement into 4 more rooms and another bathroom with another "common room" or family room type area. I have a one-acre back yard. so It is our perfect house! Yes, kids share rooms here!

What kind of vehicles do you all drive? We are getting tapped out for space.We have a sienna mini-van and a dodge extend cab truck. We are getting ready to trade the van in on a real van 12 or 15 passagenr and hopefully a small older car for DH for work.

What do you do for grocery shopping, like money wise/how often/etc? We shop once a month and spend 300-500 a month, we tend to get most at Sams club or on sale at the local grocery store.

What do you do to cut corners and make money stretch....we use alot of coupons, I shop at some great resale stores, I buy in bulk, etc I have 4 girls, HANDME DOWNS, I have 2 neices that are just a little older, so more handme downs. I make alot of things we need, I just finished Dany's bedding I made. I make some of our diapers, we use cloth that helps save too. Tim has a step-sister that has 1 son and she sends up clothes too, she sends brand new cloths with tags that her sons has out grown with out using. I do 2nd hand stores too.

How big is your house? We are preparing to put an addition on our home next spring....I have a house we bought as a 3 bedroom, with a formal livign room and family room , eat in kitchen and dinning room, and den, well we have it as a 5 bedroom with one living room, a family room and no dinnig room. We got it at a good deal, the couple was divorced and had trouble selligng it. We have done a lot of work to it. We have about an acrea of land too, so if it wasn't for the location it would be the perfect house for us(it is 2426 sq ft).
