Well I am not sure but I *think* I had an early m/c last month. I was feeling a little "funky" and thought I might be pg so I took one of those cheapo stick tests and it came up BFN.......of course I chose to look at it an hour later and there was a very faint line......almost a shadow. So I got a little giddy and decided to test in a couple of days to see if I was truly pregnant. Well, that second day came with AF full force and heavy.......sorry TMI.....so I will never truly know if this was a very early m/c or just an evaporation line. We are not currently ttc but it would have been an awesome surprise.......I was very sad as you all know that the minute you see that second line, you instantly fall in love.

I am sorry that you may have had a m/c. I have had evap lines before after taking pg tests. They say if the line is gray, not pink, it's an evap line. I hope you get the positive result you want soon. I guess if you don't see the line within the time frame they give you, it's usually an evap line, but not always. So hard to say. I agree as soon as you see that line it changes everything.

i have had experiences with both. I had a chemical pregnancy last month. I was getting light positives that were progressively getting darker and then AF came and then the tests went negative.
Chances are, what you seen was an evap line. Evap lines come after the time limits and they are very common on cheapo tests atleast for me.. not everyone gets them i guess a lot depends on what kind of test. For me, i used to do well on ebay tests and now all i get is evap lines every time and they were convincingly positive but i wasn't pregnant. Last month my lines were on Answer and they came up right away so i know they weren't evap lines.
Evap generally doesn't have color.. its usually a shadow or gray.. though the ebay tests i had, some were even pink lines. i guess its always possible it was another chemical preg but i guess i wont ever know..
