OT: Where is the best place to live?
Gosh, I am feeling so chatty tonight, problem is there is very few people in my time zone at this time so I think I am all alone here HA!
Anyway, I love California (especially Northern, where we live) but it is soooo darn expensive and so materialistic! So I know this is way off topic but which state do you like the best and why? I want to move but don't know where. I have good friends here and my mom here, plus you can make good money, home prices are sky high but I like our town, ALWAYS something to do but I would really like to move to:
1. Colorado: fresh air, humble people, grew up there & feels like home.
2. Oregon: Cheaper, more for your money
3. Arizona: Love the heat, more for your money.
What is your favorite places you have lived or visited.

Re: OT: Where is the best place to live?
Where I live is pretty cool. We are about 30 minutes from the beach, an hour from the mountains, plus we get all 4 seasons and the most gorgeous fall colors known to man!! Housing is not cheap, but its getting better. Its still better than Boston!!!! As much as I complain about living up here, I really do like it. I love snow (just not driving in it, though I'm used to it), especially at Christmas.

Re: OT: Where is the best place to live?
I too live in Northern California where it is far too expensive! My DH and I are looking into moving to Nevada. I know, immediately you think yuk! but, we are looking at the area near Lake Tahoe and it really is beautiful! I have also live in Utah (awesome) and Washington (OK). Sometimes I think Anywhere but here!

Re: OT: Where is the best place to live?
Angie... UK and Germany is a bit outta my travel range. HA! I would love to go see those places though. My DH worked in France and the UK and really like it. Ah... someday I will get to travel.
Erick... been to Utah many times, love the mountains, its like Colorado. We have thought about Nevada too and really love Tahoe but that is more expensive than here.

Re: OT: Where is the best place to live?
I live in the Northeast Corner of Iowa, 20 min from Wisconsin, 20 min from Minnesota. It is very pretty bluff country here with the Mississippi a 15 min. drive. I believe this is the prettiest part of Iowa. The living is pretty cheap here, but the income is not alot so it evens out.
I have been to southern South Dakota, Lousiana, Colorado and South Carolina and I always love coming home.

Re: OT: Where is the best place to live?
Except for the HORRIBLE house prices I love Southern CA. You just can't beat the weather. I grew up outside of Buffalo, NY and I hated the small town atmosphere. Plus snow! But I have told dh if we move I want to move somewhere were there are 4 seasons. I miss the fall colors.

Re: OT: Where is the best place to live?
Well, imho, The Carolinas are THE BEST!!!
We live in Charlotte, which is 3 hrs from the beach and 2 hours from the mountains. We have fabulous lakes here, gorgeous trees, 4 seasons, a NFL team (although they're not playing as well as they should this year), a NBA team, affordable housing, and great southern hospitality.
I absolutely LOVE Charlotte, but I would move to Charleston/Isle of Palms, SC in a heartbeat!

But the plans that I had didn't match His plans for me. It's all for the best, as I'm starting to see. My one precious child that I hold in my arms, keeps me smiling and laughing with all of her charms. She's smart, and she's sweet, she's my loving "nuggie bug," and whenever I need her, she's there with a hug. So here I am, raising one perfect little girl. To me and her daddy, she means all of the world. I guess I actually did get my way, because I've got 3 other children I'll meet in Heaven one day. So until then, I'll cherish the one here on earth, and know that I'm being watched over by those to whom I never gave birth.
