so why ...
...doesn't anybody ever really post here? In our world of uber opinionated people, are folks afraid to post about (gasp) formula feeding? Or is it because we just tend to pay more attention to our "born in" boards? I'm just curious! As a fairly new mom (DD is 4+mos) I have questions! Doesn't anybody else?

Re: so why ...
Hi, Jamie! Fancy finding you over here. I guess we'll just have to ask questions of each other, huh?

Re: so why ...
I guess so!
How is your LO doing with feeding anyway? I think DD's formula feedings have actually become more regular (finally!) now that oatmeal cereal is part of her daily routine.
I still add cereal to her bottles too. Are you feeding cereal by spoon yet? And if so, are you also adding it to bottles? I'm beginning to wonder if I should stop doing the bottle thing?? I originally started it to thicken it up. :/

Re: so why ...
I know it's an old post, but I really don't know all the boards that SK offers, not to mention with my family and the amount of boards I'm on, it's not always easy for me to post on some boards.
I'm a proud FF'er, and after attempting to BF all of my kids, circumstances have always led us to formula. I can't stand those people who try to make others ashamed for the choices they make in life, it's really low.

Re: so why ...
I was a Bfer and a FFer, quite proudly and much to my In Laws dismay (not that I cared).
I nursed my oldest till 6 weeks, he had EBM and formula till 9 weeks and then formula only till 10 mos.
My second nursed till 4 mos, EBM till 4 1/2 mos and started on formula at 2 1/2 weeks b/c of my medical issues (long story, confuses most).
My 3rd BFed till 4 1/2 mos, started on formula at 3 1/2 weeks and was on EBM and FF till 6 mos old when we went to straight formula. at 13 mos he is STILL on formula (regular as it has a higher caloric count) as he has weight gaining issues.
i dont think this board is avoided b/c of controversy, i do think most stick with their BI boards. im sorry i never saw this post, is there something specific you still need/want to know?

Re: so why ...
I just found this board, wow the things SK has! This would have been helpful when I was in my funk when I stopped BF. I was so distressed, and to know there was more support here (and in my BI board, too)! Maybe it will start to become more busy and have more posts Glad to know there is a place for other FF mommas, I found another message board online, but all the mommas seemed to be only pro-BF and very critical of FF mommas. I decided it wasn't the best place for me to join!

Re: so why ...
I have been criticized because I FF, too. BFing just didn't work for Lora. I tried and tried, and I even pumped for a while, but she just wasn't getting enough. I'm not going to starve my child and have her permanently attached to my chest like other mothers wanted me to. FFind also allows Daddy to bond with her more, too, and allows mommy the ability to take a nap on Sunday afternoons!

Re: so why ...
feeding at keyboard
I'm a proud ff, i try bf, but I just didn't work out. My family, all we have is ff feeder. I beat myself up for a little, but now I love ff, I think ita easier and if I can feed because i'm doing something, then dh, or someone else can feed him. Plus i don't want to look like a cow and pump 24/7 if i want someone eles to take care of Ben. My son knows i love him to death. and anyone who say that bf moms and babies are closer are dumb sh!ts!!! I'm very close to to my mom and i was ff!!!!!!!! ppl who put moms down because we ff are just trying to make them look better. I wouldn't have it any other way. With my next baby, i will try bf again, but if it don't work all well. My son is a health one month boy!
getting off my soapbox!
