My son is aroughly 11.5mo so i'm introducing myself early, as there is a huge possibility we'll still be feedin well past 12mths. In actual fact, DS does not take a sippy or bottle at all, whether it has water or EBM in it. He's a 100% booby boy, through and through - and i love it!!!
I'm Jesse, 25 and single mama to my DD Kailee who is 5.5yo and DS Xavier. After 2 failed relationships, i'm happily single and enjoying my special time with my kids at home. I currently study - doing my Diploma of Justice Administration - externally, tho i have been slack and need to get back into it. I'd love to get into social work, but am focusing on being a mummy first and foremost. I also live in Queensland, Australia.
I was only able to breastfeed DD until she was 3mths old (breast and formula feeding from 2mths) as i was still in school and couldn't keep up with the feeding and pumping. So when she got sick at 3mths, she chose the bottle over boob. DS on the other hand has only ever had 1 bottle of EBM which he barely drank and has always refused it - so i only offer a boob now. He will drink water from a pop-top bottle or cup if i'm drinking from one. Otherwise, it's all boob. I'm happy to say he's never ever had formula - which was something i really wanted to achieve.
My original goal was to get to 3mths exlusively breastfeeding, then 6mths - which we breezed right past. My next goal is 12mths and i'm pretty certain we'll fly by that as well and at this rate may easily get to 2yrs. I'm happy to keep feeding as long as he demands it. DS still feeds roughly 4 times a day and 3 at nite - so he sure has a healthy appetite.
Looking forward to chatting with other breastfeeding mamas
