I nursed at the dinner table yesterday
My Elias is 12 mos and still pretty much bf exclusively, very little solids. Well yesterday we had our family and friends thanksgiving dinner..there were 23 people at the tables (I was bored so I counted..lol) Less than half were family. Anyway, Elias had some turkey and a little bit of everything but then he wanted to nurse. I didn't think he would want to because usually when there are a lot of kids around he doesn't nurse so I wore a cute low cut black dress. Right at the table I unhooked my bra and got him latched on. I had to pretty much get my breast out. No blanket or anything, I just went for it. I got lots of stares and then a few minutes after my mil's cousin said "Good for you girl! Babies need to eat at the table with everyone else" Then a whole conversation started..got a couple of "you should go to another room" comments but I told them that if they don't like it they can leave the table because my baby is having his thanksgiving dinner. It was very liberating

Re: I nursed at the dinner table yesterday
Woohoo! Good for you, mama. I hope that, 10 months from now, I have the balls to do that!

Re: I nursed at the dinner table yesterday
WTG!!! I don't know if I could do it, especially now at 18 mo. I don't think he would stay latched on. But boy would the comments fly at my family table! I know my brother would flip out! Along with most everyone else! Eli actually took his nap during dinner so it wasn't even an issue this year.
