I nursed my second son until he was almost 3 and he bit me so many times (to the point of bleeding) that I wasn't sure I'd want to nurse that long again. Lo & behold, with son #3, we're at 15 months and going strong - he's a total boobie addict

Anyway, he nurses to sleep and when I try to pull my nipple out of his mouth, he often clamps down. So, recently (why I never thought of this before, God only knows!), I discovered I could make him detach by holding his nose shut with my fingers for a few seconds. He almost instantly pulls himself off and rarely comes back for more nursing. I just feel like somehow it's cruel, but it's not really hurting him, right? It was so much easier when he had no teeth to slide a finger in a break the seal... what do you guys do?
