Default what do you do to cheer up when AF comes?

Hey all,

I don't mean to be, but I get so down when AF comes to visit that I turn into a moody menace and end up taking it out on poor dh. What do you guys do to lighten the mood when you're disappointed?

That's exactly what I do...start marking the calendar with the dates of taking the FE, starting OPKs, when I might O...stuff like that so I can look forward to something. Also, I journal some and that helps to get my feelings out and not keep them bottled up.

Pray. Keeps my perspective right.
Lots of hugs from my DH.
Drink coffee (I have not been drinking much at all while TTC)
Come on here and realize I am not alone!

This is my first month trying and I just got her today. I was glad to see her though - being it's my first month off BCP. So now I'm doing what others have said. Looking at the calendar and trying to plan out next month. I'm also going to have some drinks this weekend with friends!! I have only had a glass of wine here and there since AF was over 2 weeks late - so this weekend I'll be able to join in the fun :o)

Don't get me wrong - after this month I will be very disappointed to see her again. So I hope I'm able to get through to her during this visit that she is not welcome next month!! Hahaha!

Yep, I try to plan ahead. I also just chill with a book or my favorite movie.

The first couple of months, I guess I was really missing drinking (not that I drank much) but when AF would come, I'd kind of binge and I got hung-over for the first time since early university days...I learned my lesson though! That was nasty. All I could think was how much better it would be if I was throwing up with morning sickness instead! But then I thought about my poor father-in-law going through chemo for his cancer and throwing up due to that and I realized that not getting pregnant isn't the worst thing that could happen to me. So I am trying to concentrate on all the things I do have to be thankful for!

It's good to have things put into perspective. I'm having a hard time with that right now. I am so impatient, I want to be p/g again right now!! I'm tempted to jump DH every night, just with those hopes! I'm trying really hard to be good and wait at least one cycle though! So, I'm anxious for AF. I think I'll be happy to see her, for once!
