Hi everyone,

I have read up on TTC and know that it takes a good % of couple to conceive 6 months-1 year. WE have been trying for 3 months. After the first month we were disappointed but not nearly as much as the 2nd and the 3rd month. The last two months I have been taking my basel temp and using fertility predictors sticks and monitor. Still nothing. I know its really too early to get all bent out of shape and think there is something wrong. But I can't help but think something may be wrong. Who would have thought it would have been this difficult. For some many years I was so careful thinking it could happy just like that. Not the case for me. I could use any advie and helpful hint anyone may have to offer.

Also once I knew we were going to begin trying I went "cold turkey" on drinking any caffine, alcohol and using Proactive Acne wash. I have been eating healthier then I ever have my entire life. I have been so stressed out my face has broken out and I have been a complete mess. The dermatologist prescribed Finacia and Erythromyacin but has not done the trick. I couldn't take the depression my broken out face was causing so I began using Proactive again until we do conceive (fingers crossed). I know stress can make conception for difficult. Has anyone else struggled with acne and if so how have you coped before and during pregnancy. I feel so ugly and my self esteem has decreased dramatically, I won't even go out and be social when I feel so badly about myself.

LAstly articles I have read also say that drinking alcohol may decrease your chances to conceive. Is this true or is having a glass or two of wine once or twice a month a bad idea?

i think the stress is hindering your ability to concieve, do what ever it takes to relax and have a good time. it will happen. as far as the wine, it depends on your doc. some say its ok to have a glass everyonce in a while, some say no. good luck andjust relax more

I personally think (and with the blessing of my OB and RE) a glass of wine or two a week is a-ok when TTC. It's constant binging that causes the most damage.

As for it taking a while to conceive, when we were in our first few months I was feeling the same as you ladies. I am a major advocate of getting some tests done (baseline bloodwork for "her"/semen analysis for "him") after 6 months with no luck. Especially if you have been temping/OPKing and BDing at all the right times.

I have an OB appt the end of march so I will definitely inquire about having test done (after the 6 month mark).
