!

My DH and I are fairly new at this too. It's an exciting and crazy and awesome all at the same time. The best advice I've had so far is to join fertility friend (www.fertilityfriend.com) and start charting. That's the easiest way to see if everything is working okay on your end! These ladies here are wonderful. I hope your TTC path is short!

to you!

Hi Courtney! Welcome to the board. My DH and I are new at TTC as well. I agree with NewbieTTC that fertilityfriend.com is a great site. I have a few additional suggestions. See your doctor for a "pre-conception" checkup. It's easier to treat any medical issues that you might have before you get pregnant. They'll probably suggest that you take a prenatal vitamin immediately.

Here are the rules my doc has for me:
1. Take prenatal everyday
2. NO alcohol for at least 2 months prior to TTC
3. Don't eat foods/take meds that pg women cannot eat. (such as soft cheeses....I hate this rule.)
4. No more than 2 cups of coffee/sodas a day. (this one sucks too)

His strongest point is that the most vital development happens before you even know you're pg. You might as well make sure you're at your healthiest so your future baby can have the best start possible.

Hi Courtney...all great advice so far from the 2 wise women before me.
One other very helpful thing that I did was read Toni Weschler's book, "Taking Charge of Your Fertility". It is super informative and easy to understand.

But, first things first, get yourself a Basal Body Thermometer and start charting. Start taking those prenatals, stop drinking alcohol and cut waaay back on the caffiene. Just start getting everything in tip top shape as you begin to enter this wonderful world of trying to conceive.

Good luck to you and The Hub
And WELCOME
