I have OHSS

This is for those that were here 2 years ago!

Hey Ladies! It's been a long time since I posted and I thought that I'd give you an update. I underwent my 5th IUI attempt in December. The did 75 iu of Follistim for 4 days. I went for an u/s and I had 30 follicles, so they knocked down my meds to 50 iu for 2 nights. I went in for another u/s and it wasn't getting much better. They wanted to cancel me, but I told the doc that my insurance paid for u/s's and bloodwork so she let me go three more days. They had me do one more shot of 30 iu and then nothing for 2 nights. They were hoping, but doubtful that one or two follies would mature ahead of the bunch. Well, through the grace of God, I went in for my next u/s and it was a miracle! I had two mature follies!!! My estradiol was at 2900 though, so they told my that if I went ahead I was at high risk for ovarian hyperstimulation syndrom. Of course, I said let's do it!!! Well, now I have OHSS and I'm in the hospital. I have a build up of fluid in my belly that they are going to tape and drain today and I'm dehydrated. But the good news is that this was all brought on by a PREGNANCY!!!! Pregnancy is a catalyst for this and so I'm pregnant!!!! They did my bloodwork yesterday and I got a positive blood test at 11 piui!!! My BETA was 135!!!! They are still not sure how many there are, so we'll find out when they can do an u/s. I'm so excited and I'm in SHOCK!!!! Thank you ladies, for all of your support and prayers throughout the years! I love you all and I plan to share a lot more in the coming days!!!

I don't know if you remember me or not, but I started posting on this board in August of 2005 and I do remember you. I am so happy to hear your wonderful news.

I hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months! Miracles do happen and dreams do come true! You are an inspiration to us all who are waiting for our BFP's!

Thank you so much Sheri! I remember you! This OHSS is supposed to last a couple of weeks since I'm pg, but I don't care!!!

I'll do anything to be preggo! Hang in there Sheri! Dh and I had almost decided that it was NEVER going to happen and look at us!!!!

Just lurking over here and I remember you (and your dogs)! Congratulations on your pregnancy!
That is wonderful news!! And you are right---it is sooo worth anything to be pregnant! My IVF baby is 3 months old today and he was worth every last shot, procedure, etc. and then some!
When are you due---late September I am guessing??

p.s. 135 is a fantastic beta for 11dpiui---I am going to guess you have two beans in there!

I remember you too and your beautiful bichon! Congrats on your baby! He's SO CUTE!!! I haven't gotten an EDD from the dr yet, but the internet said September 24th! It sounds like a beautiful date to me!
Oh, and my dr came to visit me today and she said that they are thinking twins right now! OMG!!!! They're doing another BETA tomorrow so we'll see if it still on track for twins. She said in 2 weeks they'd be able to see the sacs and tell us for sure! It's so surreal!

I am so happy for you girl!
I saw your name on the DIS board, so I had to pop over here to get some info.
Are there twins?
Sounds possible.
We are on the same DI board.
I'm due with #2 on Oct 7, but I will probably have gestational again, so I will have the baby in September.

Jen i too was here about a year or so ago and i have been lurking to see how you have been and i saw that you updated.. Jen i am so happy for you and i want to wish you and your dh lots and lots of luck with your pregnancy you deserve it!!! congrats and enjoy pregnancy is SOOO much fun!!! sending you lots of love.

Hey Jen!!! CONGRATS!!! have you found out if it's one or 2 yet? I've been on BCP for 6 months now... this is my first month off, but I think I'm going back on after I get my period this month. I've lost 65 pounds on my own, but I'm going to have a gastric bypass. You cant get pregnant for 2 years after the surgery so that kind of made me sad, but I need to do it. I got angry when I heard that and decided to just stop the pill, but now I'm worried because my insurance pays for it in full and if I get pg this month I might not ever get to have the surgery because we're moving in a year. =(

I lurk this board from time to time just to check in for an update from you!! I posted here late summer of 2005--not sure if you remember me. Such happy, happy news!!!!!!!! I am praying for a very happy and healthy 9 months for ya sweetie!! I hope you guys got the OHSS under control!! Man, I am just so very excited for you!! You will be a wonderful mother!!
