Ladies,
On Sunday I posted a message about VERY faint-barely noticeable at all- lines on my HPT's. On Monday and Tuesday(today) the lines were visible, but still not anywhere near as dark as the control line. Since I my period was due Monday or Tuesday, I am thinking they should be much darker by now and now I am worried that my HCG levels are too low to sustain a pregnancy or that I may be detecting a chemical pregnancy. I have been using Answer early pregnancy test (which detected earlier than the early First Response test, btw). I want to be excited, but I feel like I should have a big FAT positive. Is it normal to have such light test lines at this point? Could my levels be too low? Any advice?

It can take a few days for the line on the BFP to change and get darker at all--and I'd guess about a week or so (maybe longer--I never tested it) for the line to match the control. Hcg only doubles about every 48 hours, and as that number grows the line will get darker. I'm sure you're fine If it will make you feel better, see if your doctor will do a series of quantitative blood tests so you can assure yourself that your levels are rising.

The line might not ever be as dark as the control. I took three tests over a week period with my DS and the lines never got any darker then the first one. So I would say you are prego and a congrats is in order!!!
