Default Help, plz, plz, plz!!!

I need advice ~ the more I've been thinking about it, the more I've been freaking myself out.

I had pretty regular periods until 3 or 4 years ago. When I was 17 I had 2 m/c 6 months apart. they were both with the man who is my husband now and the second one I went to emergency for and they did an ultrasound and said something about the sack being empty (???). Both m/ced at 5 or maybe 6 weeks. We are now TTC and i'm wondering if i'm not Oing, or not Oing regularly. My AFs are 25-35days apart but have been 19 days apart and once 40. I have had 12 AFs in 12 months. My GP thinks I am Oing but that's not good enough, what if I'm not and wasting time thinking I am!? So I bought a BBT. but now I'm thinking I don't want to use it b/c what if everyday I wait for the temps to go up so I know I Oed and nothing happens? What if they stay the same? I'll cry and stress and make myself NOT O. My GP wants me to try for 6 months anyway so does it really matter? Whether I O or not I'll still have to try that long. And we BD everyday all month so does it really matter? Everyone thinks I am overreacting (I often do) including a friend of mine who has been a midwife for 20 years. I'm 23 and DH is 29. We shouldn't have a problem and we've been PG before together, so is it possible I have stopped Oing in the last 5 years? Oh yeah, and my sister has Irreg AF and has 2 kids, so can that kind of thing run in the family?

Sorry so long and all about me, Girls and thanks in advance for ANY advice!!!

Hi Kaileia!

My best advice for you would to go see a good OBGYN. That way you are dealing with someone who specializes in a woman's body and her reproduction. If you are serious about trying and they do see something, may it be in blood work or in an exam they are more likely to give you something to help your journey along instead of saying wait it out 6 months and then we will look into it! Your OB will also be able to discuss charting your temps, fm and any other suggestions they may have.

Good luck!

HI!
I'm lurking here but my heart went out to you when I read your post.
Lola is right, definately see an OB. Especially if you're not having regular cycles. They take this stuff seriously and will help you try and figure out what is going on. And don't listen to the people who tell you you're overreacting. You're not. Everyone who is TTC for any amount of time will understand. People (even my dr.) told me 'you're too young to have a problem'. Well, lo and behold I hadn't ovulated in almost a year. So again, see a regular OB. You will still have to try for 6 months before they will think about fertility stuff but that is normal. So I think it would be good to chart your BBT for the 6 months and that way you're armed with information when you do go in. It may be disheartning to see on paper if you don't O but you need to be able to show that info to the dr. Do you know how to chart? You may want to buy the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility". It explains everything and has blank charts you can photocopy. Or you can get an account at Fertility Friend (www.fertilityfriend.com) and it's free. And you can look at the 'Charting' area on sheknows..
Sorry to take over this thread, just wanted to give some info...
Good Luck Kaileia. I hope you get preggo soon!

K- I'm not ususally on this board, but wanted to reply to you. It's ok to "over-react" we all do it. Before we started TTC, I assumed everything was wrong with me AND dh. Here's what I recommend:

Take charge of the things you CAN control:
- DO chart your BBT (but don't freak out over every temp, every day- wait til the end of your cycle). As erin_b said, if you armed when you do talk to your doc, you have the power and rationale. Use www.fertilityfriend.com, it's a great resource! Plus, you will find out if you ARE o'ing. If you aren't then you can march right on and say HEY! let's figure this out!
- DO have a doc you feel comfortable with. Although he/she may be a good doc, they may not be the right doc for you
- DO measure your cervical mucus and/or positions, the DO help you greatly
- DO eat well and excercise/DON'T smoke and drink like crazy
- DON'T worry yourself to death! A lot of women are going through the same worries, concerns, conditions and life experinces here! It's a great place to share your ups and downs with. It's a great place to vent too! TTC can be tough and we are all here for each other!

Good luck on your journey and I hope all your worrying will be for not and you get that :bpf sooner than you think.

I'll be checking on ya.

Hey there i exactly how you feel your fertility doc or regular doc should be able to do blood work thru-out the month...my blood work is still pretty weird and i am on clomid and it takes a couple months to work! i go in for CD day 3 blood and then clomid 5-9 and then cd day 21.... the blood work from 21 will tell the doc if your o'ing.... maybe your doc needs to get you on a regular set up like this to see if you are for sure and for your peace of mind! if they are not willing to do somehting like this with you try a womens clinic for fertility clinic!
take care and keep us posted!

Thanks, Girls. I think I am Oing, I'm just nervous. I might try to get a CD21 blood test. I am temping, I have been temping for 3 days. I'm on CD 11 and the last 3 days have been 36.3, 36.1 and 36.0, respectively. Do you think 36.0 is too low? Wait, you girls are on Fahrenheit! I'm going to temp and see if I'm Oing. This month. If FF says I'm not, I'll go into see my Dr, I guess.

Thanks to everyone who answered!

I do have a link! I'm a lot calmer today, too. Just had a TTC breakdown! See, someone on webmd told me that if your cycle is irreg something is def wrong. But I've talked to 2 doctors and a midwife since then that say that's incorrect. I'll bet I am Oing - there's no reason to suspect I'm not. Anyway, here's my chart:http://www2.fertilityfriend.com/home/c88b3

PS I've only been temping for 4 days though!

Kaileia! Temping and charting has helped me out tremendously! I'm so glad I started. You will learn a lot from it and really get to know your body. You'll get that before you know it!
