Icon9 First time testing....

OK, call me impatient, but I've tested on OPK 10 and 11 and got nothing.... I know it's probably too early, but when I look at other people's tests, they seem to get a lot of positives on these days. Is that pretty unusual, or am I probably not preggo? This 2ww is killing me!! Can someone please give me a little encouragement (or tell me how to wait out this 2ww without overreacting...).. Thanks!

We have all been there, and trust me a lot of ladies, me included, know EXACTLY how you feel. The best way to help wait it out is 1. I educate myself on everything possible, just in case it did not work this time, I will know more/new idea/new methods to try next time. And 2. Distract myself, do something totally off subject, paint/watch a fav. movie, meditate...And as for testing on days you have seen other women get a BFP on does not always work as we are all diff and you have to wait a few extra days to a + to show. Are you temping? This may also help you out. And if you are a consistant 28-whatever amount of days the closer you get to AF and feel like you are not going to start or if she does not come, this would be a good time to test. View this as an adventure, have fun with it, I know easier said than done, but it really does help.

HTH. Best of luck, hoping you get a BFP soon!!!

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm just so anxious. I'm 35, and this is the first time I've ever even tried to get pregnant. Everyone I work with has me scared to death that I waited too long to try, so every month I worry more that they're right. I know, it's crazy, but it's how I feel. I just ordered some Aimsticks, which are supposedly highly sensitive, so I'm wondering if I should try again in a day or two, or just wait til AF?

Do what is right for you, if you can wait it out, you are more lilable to get a more accurate response, but I know how hard it can be!! And I have a girl friend who is 39 and waited until 35 to get pregnant, she now has a 4 year old little princess! I think if you work with a good OB and are educated about everything you can do to help inprove your chances, it will happen.
Strength, good karma and my fingers crossed you get a BFP real soon!

I am in my 2ww and I am going crazy too! I have already poas 3 times and all were ! I decided I won't test again until I miss or have a jump in temps when I am expecting . I also keep thinking I am having sxs, but then I tell myself it is probably in my head. I am logging all of these so called "sxs" so next month when I am obsessing, I can look back and say, see, last month you thought you were pg and look what happened dummy!

I am in the same boat as you. I will be 35 in December and DH and I just started ttc in June. I also am a little worried about waiting so long too, but then I think, there are women a lot older who have healthy babies, and with good medical care, I think the odds are pretty good!

I also believe in temping and educating myself. I have been addicted to the internet, looking up everything I can about ttc and I have learned so much it is unbelievable! Also, when I need a little encouragement, there is a website I go to and it lists symptoms that other women have had. (www.twoweekwait.com) I like reading about real sxs women have instead of the ones the say you should have! A lot of those doctors are men and how the heck would they know? They've obviously never been pregnant!

Well, good luck, and I hope you get your soon!

Thanks everyone for your encouragement!!! Good news-- I tested three times now in the past two days.... The first two were with Aimstick preg tests andthey showed a faint line both times. I mean, they were really faint. So, I went out and bought a First Response test and tested this morning (along with another Aimstick test) and both showed really faint lines. I'm hoping it's accurate!! I'm supposed to get AF Tuesday or Wednesday, so I think I'll hold out testing again til Wed/Thursday. I want to see a dark line before I really believe it.

Hope everyone else is having good luck this month!

Girl the two week wait is pure torture!!!
I know exactly how you feel regarding to that... if it makes you feel better I know 2 friends who didnt show + on the HPT with their first child, but did with their 2nd... sometimes it just takes time for your body to show the hormone.
Good luck... the rest of the girls are right, try to keep yourself really busy and try - key word is *try* to forget what day you are on... Good luck!

Hi, this is my first month TTC and I'm 34. I have one more week before af. I'm trying very hard to wait till I've missed af before I test but we shall see if I can actually wait that long. The good thing is I have a business trip Wed - Fri so hopefully that will distract me enough.

It sounds like this may be the real deal Linus! I hope the line gets darker and darker for you. I'm sending lots of your way!

Cleung! The 2ww is very tough to get through. It's hard to resist testing when you think you have every symptom in the book! ( Like I always do!) Good luck to you and I hope you get your real soon!

to all!!!!!!
