My husband and I are hoping to start a family soon. Last month, I thought I might be pregnant because my "period" was very short and extremely light compared to other cycles. I took several tests and all were negative. I'm wondering if, since my cycle was so different last month, if that will effect our chances of conceiving this month??

Some cycles are just weird, I don't think it would decrease your chances of conceiving. This is a REALLY REALLY inactive board though, most of the women that were here when I joined in Feb 2005 have already conceived and had their babies. There isn't a complete new batch of girls TTC here yet.

I don't think a light period will have cause any difference in your chances of conception. What will matter is the lining building up now for the eggie to nestle in--not what was leaving last month. HTH...Good Luck with catching your egg!

I like to look at AF (your period) as being the end of one cycle not so much the beginning of another.

The one thing my doctor told me was that as long as I was O'ing on/near the same days every month that there wouldn't be any reason to come in and see him for infertility problems etc.

My periods are off and on though especially when I was first off of BCP's. Now they seem to have regulated themselves. I would just see how your cycle goes if you consistently notice a problem then there may be a reason for you to bring it up to your OB/GYN.
