Default the basics of getting pregnant??

Hi, I am new here. DH and I started ttc in November of 2004. I went off of bcp then. He then ended up going to Iraq for six months, so it was put off. We are currently trying again. I have not started taking bc again. I am wondering what else I can do to get pregnant (besides the obvious....lol). Thanks a lot.

Aim - The best resource I found was reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It's considered the 'bible' of ttc. Lots of great information, explained in a simple common sense manner. You can get it at Barnes & Noble, online at Amazon, or pretty much any other large bookstore. It's recently been updated, so make sure you get the newest version. Good luck to you and your dh! I agree with Carrie. I also would recommend using opk's and charting with www.fertilityfriend.com. Charting really helps you get in tune with your body. Everybody's body is different and when you understand how yours works, it can help you with ttc. It can also help confirm if/when you are ovulating. Good luck and I hope you get your bfp real soon!

Another vote for reading Taking Charge Of Your Fertility and charting. Those really is the most important two things you can do. Other than that the key is to be healthy. Do you drink, smoke, drink a lot of caffiene, eat a lot of junk food, skip your vitamins, skimp on water etc? Nows the time to get in the habit of living healthy as if you already are pregnant. If you find that you have trouble getting preggers there are other things you can do (natural remedies before moving on to drugs) but theres no need to worry about that until you know you have a problem. Something you should definately be doing now is taking a multivitamin and extra folic acid. I take a prenatal vitamin (a lot of us do) plus and extra folic acid and calcium and a baby aspirin (I have PCOS). Are your cycles regular and has your DH has a sperm analysis? Hope your TTC journey is smooth and short. Good luck and blessings, Prana
