Default Anyone tried...

acuponcture?

I'm going for my first treatment on thursday. Hey, if it got my asthma to a controlable level (could even say it's gone since it got me from a 4nights a week at the emergency to maybe, once a year). I'm getting desperate. It's going to be 4years since we started TTCing and nothing but a M/C at 5weeks. I want results. So I'll try this out and continue Clomid and realy hope for the best.

I have about 5months left to get pregnant before my RE tells me we have to go for IUI and that will mean that I have to stop since I can't afford it ..at least not right now.

Desole! I know nothing about accupuncture. It would seem like an encouraging option considering how successful it has been for your asthma. Best of luck! Hopefully someone else can be of more help.

Anik, I have heard others say that it was successful for them.
I guess it can't hurt to try.
Good luck girl!
Maybe this will do the trick for you!

I was taking to my accuponcturist last night and he said that he would love to keep the treatments going once I'm pregnant because of our M/C last year, since they have a treatment that helps with all the symptoms and prevent m/c as well as help with the delivery .

When I told DH that, he told me to do anything that can help us have a child, even if it means having to DTD while hanging from our anckles.

My first appointment is tomorow and I can't wait. He told me that the treatment will help with controling the side effects of Clomid and he will look into my allergies to help me get off the meds (or at least reduce the quantity of meds).

I'll keep you posted .

Anick, I know that in some countries over here (Western Europe) it's not uncommon for midwives to be trained in accupuncture. One of my friends was offered accupuncture by her OB in her last trimester to ease the effacement and dialation of the cervix. I definitely believe it can work. Keep us posted and best of luck!

Anick- While I have no experience with accu. I have scheduled a Mayan abdominal massage. My girlfriend got it for me for my birthday and it is kind of freaking me out! It is supposed to help the blood flow to the ovaries, uterus etc. I guess that she went to Mayan community and studied for years with them... that being said I am still not too keen on someone pressing on my tummy. Yikes... Let me know how it goes with you!

Waiting for the big O

Ok, yesterday was my first treatment and it went great.

You end up with needles in your feet, arms, forehead and stomac. The ones in the stomac are twisted until you feel a little pinch. Then he has you relaxing under a heating lamp for about 20min...I was so relax that I just fell asleep. Then you get to flip to your stomac and have anothe 4 needles put in your lower back in your spine area, those are also twisted until you feel that little pinch, another 20min of relaxation and voila. You're cooked on both sides...LOL

I have totaly felt my O pain last night, which is great since it was the exact side that pinched the most when I had my treatment. Sure glad , we did'nt miss .

I have a second treatment tomorow, so crossing my fingers that this is a good sign for a bigger family soon .

So know the waiting game begins...good thing I'll be on holidays when it will be time to test...I'll be too busy to think about it all the time.

DH is so funny, he was his "boys" last night and rubbing my stomac. Go little swimmers Go

I forgot to add that for the first time in the last 3months, I was a little chilly..my worst side effect with Clomid is the heat flashes...I thought for sure that I would turn into the human torch since my skin was boiling at the touch ...I took my temps once during a hot flash and it hit 101.3 F easy.

Oh Anick I hope this works for you! I've thought of trying it myself. I've heard that it works for a lot of people! That's so awesome that you felt O pains afterwards! I hope your second treatment goes just as well. You'll have to let us know if it works. I'll be trying to find an accupuncture place around here!

I have a good friend who just gave birth to her second child. She only has one ovary and it is (I forget the med term) covered in cysts. Her options were IVF or accupuncture. She went for the latter. The results have proven to be far more sucessful than IVF, but it does take a bit longer. Took about a year of treatments for her, but, like I said, she just gave birth to daughter #3 (they also did a chinese adoption) last month. She is 41 years old.

I just tested last night and this am....2 BFNs. I'm giving up TTC for a few months, but will be going for accupuncture in the meantime. Shooting for a Sept/Oct baby now.
