Default Having to hand express with Medela PIS - HELP!!!

Hello Ladies,

Its my first time posting here. I am a first time Mom and got bak to work at 12 weeks. I have been trying to pump at work every 3 hours. I was pumping even when I was staying home and built some freezer stash.
My problem is I have to hand express milk even with PIS. It hurts my boobs to hand express it so hard. I know milk is there and it won't come out fast enough unless I hand experss and squeeze it. Since couple days I had clogged ducts which HURTS and I can't get the milk out.
Has anyone experienced this? I bought the PIS brand new 3 months ago. Should I try any other pump? I was thinking of renting hospital grade pump because I don't want to quit pumping. Please help!!!!

first off congrats on deciding to give your new little one the best start oissible

secondly, you need to NOT squeeze so hard, as you could damaga breast tissue, which you dn't wanna do.

as foir the milk not coming out fast enough, i am not sure what to tell you. maybe you could try massage and breast compression to encourage letdown a little more though.

renting a hospital grade is an option, but in general, the medela pis is the best pump out there, and has cycling similar to a hospitla grade pump.

what speed are you using? maybe you could alter that and have it help a little? also the suction level may need adjusted to be most effective for you.

also, some moms suggeats looking at a pic of the baby or sniffing a blanket or artricle of clothign etc and imagining that it is the baby at the breast instead of the pump.
