Default avent isis iQ uno

anyone have any input on this pump? I used an ameda purely yours for dd and after using the hospital medela at 8 weeks pp i lost all supply. I will be going back to work at 8 weeks pp and don't really need the double pump capacity since i couldn't seem to coordinate the double pumping bit with dd #1. I'm wondering if the Avent would be a better fit and if it is truly quiet and has hospital grade suction.

thanks!

I am confused.... I am using the Ameda PY and my daughter is just over 8 weeks old.

So with your first, you used the PY for eight weeks, then switched to a Medela and lost your supply?

I've never used an Avent, but I've heard good things about them. One downside is that you can only pump into Avent bottles, and BPA free ones aren't available yet. It would be awhile before you find them.

Good luck with whatever you decide! For me, I have to have a double pump. It's a PITA to hold them both while pumping, but it would take too long to use a single pump!

my dd was sick and had surgery at 2 months old. i used the hospital pump and then when i got home i tried to change back to my ameda. the suction wasn't the same so i think that is why i lost my supply. I DID NOT lose supply with the medela, only when i came home and used the home one that i used before the surgery. is this more clear? If i use the ameda i will have to borrow it back from a friend. I just don't know if the avent would be better fitted for me.

also, from what i read you can pump into their storage containers with the Via system so no BPA contamination.

just curious on the efficiancy and quietness of the avent pump.

the avent would be good for occasional use, but if pumping regularly, i'd likely try to stick with a hospital grade pump. will you be using it more than a couple times a week? or just part-time?

I haven't used that pump before, so I don't have much input. I'd recommend using the double if you are going to be using it a lot and to look for options for you to pump handsfree so you don't have to worry about the coordination. Kellymom.com has ideas on how to pump handsfree without having to buy the fancy bras. good luck!
