Default What bottle is best...

for a breast fed baby. I want to introduce a bottle to him soon in case there is ever a need for him to have one in case I am not around. I think I used the Avent bottles with Dylan, but can't remember for sure.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Dr. Brown's are the best bottles IMHO. My son has done very well with them and they reduce risk of colic / gas also.

I have done a lot of reading on this and I have read Dr. Brown and Avent. My personal opinion and I have both of these, is Avent's nipple flow is still too fast with the stage 1 for a bf baby. Dr Brown is what I use and I have no problems what-so-ever with Rylee switching from bottle to breast...she may get one bottle a day if that but she still latches great. Now is a good age anyway to give them one if you need to!

OH! I use the wide mouth bottles...not the small ones. There are two kinds...forgot to add that!

yup, me too- i've used bottles from the beginning and NEVER had a problem switching back and forth. DS goes easily from one to the other. And i've been nursing for 1 year. Most times after a bottle i'll have him nurse a bit at least a couple minutes- or vice versa. Was never even an issue at all.

We use the Avent bottles and she hasn't had any confusion issues.

I have used the Avent wide mouth bottles with all 3 kids and have never had an issue. They never had a problem, but I just used the bottle occasionally when I wasn't around.

What bottle is best? The one that your kid will take! Honestly, there's no real trick to it. I bought the whole Avent bottle system with my first and it ended up that she would only take a bottle with the plain ol' Nuk nipples. So in the end, the best bottle for your baby is the one she's willing to take.

The only suggestion that I have is to keep with the newborn nipples... You don't need to make it super easy for her to get milk out of the bottle so that she ends up with a bottle preference.

I agree with the suggestion to stay with the newborn nipples....I have no intentions of switching DD to the faster flow anytime soon - we're going back and forth from Avent bottle to breast no problems right now.

We have tried Avent, Soothie, and Playtex Nursesr. He likes the the playtex nurser with a latex nip--it's a lot softer than the silicone nips--more like the real thing.

I can't find their website but found them at BRU & Target: Second Nature: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html...sin=B0002PR76S

I really like the nipples and Lili has no problems drinking from the bottle. Just an FYI before buying a set, if you have Avent bottles, the nipples fit the bottle ring so all you have to buy are the nipples.
