So the past few days Hayden has been very uninterested in nursing. She was never a long nurser before (15 min max during the day) but that time has been getting shorter and shorter. Lately she'll give a suck or two and then either just pull off and talk to me or pinch my nipple (which hurts!) or just sit on my lap and basically do nothing. She used to nurse laying in bed for about 20-30 min every morning and she's even cut that nursing session down to 5 min.. and she's asleep for that session! It's been like this for three days now, at least. She's 14 months now and drinks great from a sippy, gets plenty to eat, so I know she doesn't need me for any food value. I don't think it's a nursing strike because she isn't really refusing to nurse, she just isn't interested. I decided long ago that I never wanted to force her to wean if I could help it, and likewise I would never want to force her to nurse if she doesn't want to. I think she is ready to be done and that is 100% okay with me. I am so proud of myself for nursing this long and grateful to you ladies for helping me along I'll continue to check in like I have been and I will be back whenever the next little bundle pops in.
