Default Weaning?

How do I wean my son ? He is almost 28 months old and still wants to nurse at night ad for comfort. If I tell him no or give him a bottle it is all out WW3 and he doesn't calm down. How do I gently wean him as I am pregnant again and had ptl issues last time. TIA

so he is already down to only nursing at night? did i read this correctly? would he maybe understand the concept of timing? ie "okay, you cna nurse but only until mommy counts to 15" (or whatever random number) depending on how you feel , you cna count slowly or a bit faster to get to the end result. is daddy able to help at night?

also, regarding the ptl, as long as your midwife or doc hasn't put you on pelvic rest, nursing should be fine. the uterine contractions from bf are less intense than those from an orgasm. also stufdes have shown that mothers who nurse through pregnancy have a tolerance to oxytocin(ie the uterus doesn't react as much to it, sicne it is used to the small amounts released).

congrats on your pregnancy

He will nurse during the day to go to sleep unless he is at daycare then he doesn't. Dad usually isn't home till they are in bed so that isn't a great deal of help. The thing is that I am on pelivc rest b/c I had 15 days of straight bleeding so far. TY for the suggestions as I will try the counting tonight.
TY

Tried those last night and it wasn't fun at all. He cried and cried and cried when I told him he could have his milk for bed. Ugh this is going to be a long road ahead. TY and I will keep trying with these.
