weaning at 12 mos
Okay, I am almost 19 weeks pregnant, which is when my preterm labor problems usually kick in. With my twins, I was hospitalized for 12 weeks starting at 19 weeks (they were born early at 30 weeks 6 days), so I don't need to mess around. I can tell that contractions are kicking up... especially after nursing. I need to wean my dd!
She was uninterested in daytime nursing, so it was pretty easy to get down to twice a day (morning and bedtime). I then dropped morning pretty easily, as I can pick her up and bring her down to playwith her brothers and she is happy to have her cup so she can be part of the action. But, I am having a hard time at night. I nurse her to bed, but she is waking at night. I don't have much at that point, so I'm basically a pacifier. That seems to do the trick. However, I'm BEAT! I need to sleep.... I'm preggo!
She had the sniffled a few days ago and spent the whole day pulling up my shirt. I didn't refuse, but there wasn't much there so she didn't stick around... that seems to have passed, for the most part, so hopefully she will go back to being too busy to worry about nursing during the day.
I'm thinking that I need to start getting dh to take her upstairs to bed, and give her her cup. I'd just love to hear from any of you who successfully weaned your 12-13 month old and get some advice!
