Default Should I wake her?

Hi there,

Maia is a little over 2 months old now and for 7 out of the past 10 nights she's slept 7-8 hours at a time (great for me), at first I thought it was just a fluke thing but its happening more consistantly; at this age should I be waking her to feed either for her benefit or my supply? She seems to be cluster feeding in the evenings now and will eats every hour or so for about 5 hours and she typically eats every 2-4 hours during the day (I don't have her on a schedule and just feed on demand). The pediatrician said that as long as she is gaining then its nothing to worry about (she's been right at the 50th percentile since birth and keeping on this track) but I'd like to know what you guys think since although the pediatrician appears to be decent about BF'ing (I've never been encouraged to ff etc and she appears positive about bf'ing) you never know about these things.

TIA!

Erin

I think the cluster feeds will keep your supply up. I say you better enjoy the sleep while you can get it. It may not last forever!! My dd slept great from 2-4 mos and then it all went downhill from there. So from one formerly sleep deprived momma to another, take what you can get!

I agree. your body will adjust to her needs and she is doing quite a bit of eating before she goes to sleep. If she were only a few weeks old, i would say maybe wake her but if she is growing, hopefully it will be a nice pattern for you guys! Kenda is right, it might not last so enjoy it!

Sounds great to me! Don't worry about your supply, your boobs sorta "learn" when there is more demand and less and compensate for it.

I agree - do that happy dance!

Get some sleep and be excited that she is sleeping through the night! Many momma's would love to have that happen that early
