I have a poop question for my SIL
She says that Amari (5 weeks old) has green poop for a week or so now. I explained foremilk and hindmilk and she says she tried to block feed like I suggested and make sure he got enough hindmilk but that it was still green. Today she informed that it is mucousy and green. I looked it up for her on Kellymom and all I could find was that it is a sign of viral infection. Any other ideas, or is that correct? She is calling the doctor tomorrow about it.
Also, She says that Amari fusses terribly at her right breast but loves the left. She says he will latch on and pull and stretch her nip out and hit her and knead and squeeze and pinch her. On Kellymom we found that it could mean he is frustrated with a slow let down. Is there anything she can do to either speed up her letdown or teach him to be calm and patient? I guess it was to the point where she couldn't get him to feed on that side at all because he got so frustrated and she almost lost her supply.
Thanks in advance ladies
Oh and I just wanted to throw in that Hayden and I are still breastfeeding and going strong! I think she is seriously working on some teeth though! Uh oh!!
