Please help... shooting pain!
I'm in excruciating pain and I am unsure of what I need to ask for because I don't think my Dr. has a clue (my husband is military so changing Dr's is pretty much impossible right now).
I have two white dots on my left nipple. When I only had one I thought that it was a milk blister. Now I have two and I have these shooting pains that go from my nipple all the way into my chest. PAINFUL!
I went to the Dr. two days ago (tuesday) and the Dr. thought it was the start of Mastitis (I had what felt like a HUGE lump). I don't have fever or other symptoms other than the two white dots and shooting pains. My daughter also doesn't have anything but then again, she has been cranky for two days but she is also teething and has a cold so I don't know what is bothering her specifically.
I don't think it is mastitis but I was put on antibiotics... now I am starting to think this was a horrible decision.
What to do? I never had any BF problems with my other daughter and for the first 16 months of nursing my second. Does it sound like thrush? Or is is Mastitis? If it is thrush isn't being on antibiotics kind of pointless?
I am thinking of making an appointment first thing tomorrow morning (friday)... should I be asking for other kind of meds? Is there anything I can do?
So sorry for my rambling. I am just miserable and in pain. Hopefully someone can help.
