So today at my BF support group meeting, I was talking to my LC about the nipple shield and how we are still using it.

I posted on here right after Ava was born about using the shield and you guys gave me some great advice.. like trying it every time, trying the rebirthing in the bath tub, etc. I had done all of these and every once in awhile she would latch and suck a couple of times...

Well today my LC said, "Let's try it without the shield, while she isn't FRANTIC" so I said.. Good idea, let's try!! And with my LC's help she nursed for 20 MINUTES without the shield!!!!!!!!!

It is very exciting for us as we've been trying for 7+ weeks now to get rid of that dumb shield!

So I just thought I would share! Another happy BFing relationship still going strong!!

That is AWESOME news!! So what did your LC suggest for you guys moving forwards then? Are you supposed to try to anticipate her hunger so that she's never "frantic"? How awesome though......after 7 weeks - you KNOW she can do it now! (so does she, lol)
