Default Nibble, nibble, chomp, chomp...

My child keeps biting me!!!!! She doesn't smile or think it's funny so I guess that's good. I say NO NO, do not bite mommy and put her down at which point she cries and cries. But it keeps happening, almost at every feeding. My boobs are huge b/c she can't get through a feeding. And, she's almost acting like she forgot how to latch. Sometimes she won't uncurl her bottom lip. I know it's hard for them to latch when the boob is really engorged so I have tried to pump off some milk but she's still acting crazy. She's been sick with bronchitis and is just getting over it. She's got 4 top teeth and 2 on the bottom and has had them for several weeks now. She's almost 10.5 mos old. I really wanted to feed her a minimum of one year and then as long after that as possible but weaning is entering my brain. I've already got a sore on one nipple again which is making nursing that side pretty painful. Does anyone have any ideas for why she is doing this or how I can get her to stop. My dh just keeps saying...maybe it's time to give it up, but I'm really not ready and I don't think she is. HELP!

i'm betting it has a lot to do with her recent illness, *possibly* combined with some teeth about to erupt through.

have you tried nursing her in a quieter area than usual and see if she can at least get a couple of good nursing sessions in that way? have you tried when she is VERY tired, or even asleep? many times little ones will have great latching in their sleep, ie when they're more nursing on instinct.
