Default New to this board

Hi I am Kellie and I have on SK for awhile now, since before I got preggie with my daughter and I don't know why I never noticed this board. I breastfeed my baby and have since birth, she does really well. BUT....lately she has been a major snacker! I dont know what her deal is.....I sometime cant get her to breastfeed longer than like 5 mins, and then she is hungry again soon. Also she just cut her first tooth....maybe that has something to do with it??
Looking forward to getting know everyone here

Ah, the age of distraction! There are just so many interesting things in the world to look at, mommy! Irene is just a few weeks younger and she is going through this, too. Teething can also make it painful to suck so some babies won't nurse as long because of it. It can be soooo frustrating, but it is a stage. Try nursing her in a quiet room where it is boring if at all possible.

Yep, Mine are 6 months and have days like that. It does help to have them in a quite room with nothing else going on. I would also agree that it could be the teething.

Ah...the dreaded distraction phase...my least favorite by far!! It'll pass though it will take quite some time. I'll third the suggestion for the quiet dark room though when they don't wanna nurse there's not much you can do about it except take a deep breath and offer again later.

Welcome to the board!

welcome to the forum kellie

the other ladies have said pretty much what i would about her distraction, is she starting solids now? if so, make sure you're nursing first and then offeringher solids, because at this young age mama;s milk should be her proimary nutrition and solids are just for "learning "how to eat.

hope this helps, and if you wanna be added to our "hall of fame" let me know
