Default Lazy latch

My sweet Brayden was born at 33 weeks and we have had issues with suck, swallow and breathe from day 1. He came home from the NICU a week ago. His gestational age is 35 weeks today. Finally he is nursing like a champ. I have nursed my girls but they were both full term babies.

Here is my question: When he latches on, milk is constantly dribbling from his mouth. I have to nurse him in the football hold sitting up right or he has trouble keeping up with my letdown. I tried to nurse him laying down last night desperate for some sleep but my bed gets wet because of his inability to properly latch. He doesn't have much of a forceful suck, but he is properly gaining weight and my nips are not sore whatsoever.

There are no LC around me, nor is there a LL group. So i'm on my own with the help of you gals.

Do you think this is something he will grow into? I have noticed an improvement. He wouldn't even nurse in the NICU so this is huge progress.

Please...please...please share your thoughts.
