This is my 3rd baby to bf & she is 10 days old. All is going well, but yesterday itchy red bumps appeared on my breasts right outside the nipple area. DD is still nursing fine & I don't have any pain, but the itching is driving me crazy! It's almost exactly like the rash I developed around my c-section incision last week--my OB said that was an allergic reaction to something they used during the surgery & gave me Claritan for it. THAT makes me think the breast rash is also an allergy, but to what? Or could it be thrush? DD doesn't have any of the signs of thrush, but I understand that it's not always obvious in babies. Can anyone help?
