Default Hi and advice

Hi!

I am exclusively bfing my 5 month old son. I haven't introduced bottles or anything yet and am wondering if I should. When my oldest son was 5 months old I had to introduce bottles of BM because I was returning to work full-time. This time around I am home and have a home daycare. I keep putting off the bottles because I just don't want to pump (pumped for several months the first time).

My question- do I need to introduce a bottle or can I breastfeed until he moves to whole milk in sippy cups? What have some of you done?? If I go to bottles I'd probably have to introduce formula..cause I don't have the pumped stock. Anyone skip bottles all together and how did it work out?

Thanks!!

Well, I don't know if I can help, but I can tell you that my little Miss Vivian has always refused taking a bottle and won't drink EBM from a sippy now, so it can be done, LOL. It would have been nice to be able to have DH or a babysitter feed her and give me a break or a night out, but Vivian obviously didn't think so. Nine months and still no bottles - she's drinking some water and some juice in a sippy. I have always planned on her self-weaning so never any formula here. She was exclusively breast-fed until 5.5 months when I started some solids. I tried introducing a bottle with her at 5 weeks old but she really didn't "get" that she was supposed to suck on anything other than me.

HTH!
