Default Growth Spurt or Supply Issue?

HELP! I posted this before in a different sense.... I posted about my let down being later than ever before and Rachael being so fussy about it. Well, it has not gotten better. I do have a let down, but it takes a minute or two. The problem is she pops on and off so much it might take 5 minutes for her and she gets so upset. She is not really a comfort nurser, so offering to nurse her when she is not yet really hungry does not work. This has been going on for almost a month now. I doubt a growth spurt could go on this long?! Do you think I am having a supply issue or is she just not adjusting along with my body?

She is 6 months tomorrow and we have barely done any EMB bottles and no formula at all. She is a binky baby, but as I said before she won't use me for comfort really -just food. I have started my supplements again (a lacatation blend) and I made some oatmeal choco chippers today! I don't know what else to do? Nursing her is becoming a chore for both of us!

kylesmom gave good advice about pumping (or hand expressing) just a little beforehand to get the milk flowing for her, but the other thing is maybe you just arne't feeling your letdowns anymore? many of us stop feeling them after nursing gets well established.

however, 6 months is a MAJOR growth spurt time (2 wks, 3 wks, 6 wks, 3 months, 6 month are the common ones)

stick with the mother's milk tea and oatie cookies for a couple of days and see how that does. if that doesnt' give ya a little boost along with more nursing, i'd suggest throwing a bit of pumping into the mix for more stimulation. then if necessary, you cna use the pumped milk in a sns to further increase her suckling and your supply.

oh, and pass me a chocoat cookie, would ya? YUMMY!
