Fear of losing milk...please help!
I have 6 week old baby. I had a C-section and lots of problem getting the milk started. I used lots (!) of pumping to get things startd and keep the baby happy and growing on healthy BM. On the bottles the baby was content and sleeping a lot, also in daytime.
Recently my pumping result was high enough (100 cc - 120 cc) to stop pumping completely and BF 'live' only, according to a lactation consultant.
For longer than a week I am struggling with a baby that wants to nurse constantly. I cannot leave the bed for a minute, for she wakes up immediately and starts to scream. She only naps with me in the bed, when nursing. There is also a lot of 'nibbling'. Late at night she usually falls asleep and sleeps through most of the night. Often I wake her up then because of my engorged breasts.
My questions:
-will this nibbling behaviour no jeapardise my milk suppy? I have no idea how much she effectively drinks..
- I want to feed on cue, but will sleeping with engorged breasts at night not harm my milk supply (no demand, so less supply the next day)? Maybe should pump during the night, or even twice?
- how long will this take to get into a somewhat 'normal' rhythm? I can hardly go to that bathroom or take a shower. Also, I cannot leave the house or see people, unless they (or I) are willing to witness this BF..
I would appreciate you imput and encouraging words!
