Re: does your bf baby
I would like to get her to take one, just so DH can feed her once a day after he gets home from work. Kinda like a time a to force him to destress from his day.
However.... my baby is all about the booby! So, I guess it may not happen.

Re: does your bf baby
She will....We've given her one 2 oz. bottle after I swore I wasn't going to give any. This is DH's first child, and I felt like I needed to give him a choice so one night while I was feeling horrible we defrosted some milk....When I ended up getting better before the next feed, I asked him if he wanted to have that experience one time and see if she'd take it so we gave her just a little bit and she was fine with it. I dpn't plan to do it regularly, but I'll have one with me JIC for my dad's wedding in case I need to drink (Its not a good thing that hes getting married). I've been lucky and had 2 kids that would take them when they needed em without issue.

Re: does your bf baby
All 3 of my kids would take a bottle of expressed bf. They never had any formula. And only if I wasn't around.

Re: does your bf baby
He does sometimes but, it is a LOT of work to get him to take it. I don't out without him very often, so it's not usually necessary. Soon enough he'll be able to take a cup and or solids and won't need to worry about a bottle at all.

Re: does your bf baby
No bottles here. We've never tried. When I was pg, I loved the idea of not doing bottles, but I did get a little nervous about the reality of it. Well, the reality of it has been just great. I love life without bottles and pumps.
For the record, this is my second baby. With my first, I worked full-time, so I pumped for a year in addition to BFing. DS #1 was great at switching from breast to bottle and back again. Then suddenly, at about 6 months old, he rejected the bottle completely, so we had to reverse cycle nurse. He was still in daycare and would go all day just eating solids and then nurse like crazy when we were together. I continued to pump at work, just to keep my supply up.

Re: does your bf baby
My little monkey has never taken the bottle. Not that I haven't tried with EBM, mind you! We spend many $$$$ on every type of bottle out there and she never wanted anything to do with the artificial nipple. She never took a paci, either. It's a darned good thing I am a SAHM! It does get hard sometimes being the human pacifier, though

Re: does your bf baby
When my daughter is with us, I like to turn my attention to her 100%, and DH will give Cameron a bottle of EBM. I'm going back to work in a week, so it's good to know that he'll take one! (he's going to be across the street so I will try to visit / feed him often, but sometimes he'll probably need to take a bottle if I have a meeting or something like that)

Re: does your bf baby
Yes, Adrianna takes bottles of ebm at daycare. I pump during the day. When I am with her we nurse. She used to take a bottle from me if she was really hungry and I couldn't find a place to nurse, but I haven't offered her one in a long time. Now that she's on solids, I take food with me to restaurants instead of a bottle.

Re: does your bf baby
Yes. My first had a bottle from the beginning and went back and forth with no problem.
Oakley took a bit longer. I had to be out of sight and he'd only take a Playtex bottle. Once I went back to work he reverse cycled for awhile, then decided he would take bottles during the day but only from the sitter, not dh or my mom or anyone. Now he's fine with taking any bottle from anyone with anything in it.

Re: does your bf baby
She goes back and forth from Breast to EBM no problem, but sometimes if I'm there she won't take a bottle! (if she wakes up before I go to work)

Re: does your bf baby
Dani took a bottle and had no problem going back and forth from breast to bottle from early on.....thank goodness b/c I went back to work when she was just over 3 mths old and DH has been home with her - he needed to able to feed her when I wasn't there (even though I went home at lunch for months). When I stopped going home at lunch to nurse this year, she started taking alot more by bottle from DH while I was away during the day....

Re: does your bf baby
Karen used to, she was actually strictly on bottles for about a week and a half in December, but since we've gone back to exclusively breastfeeding in the middle of January we haven't even tried. I don't pump, so she gets it straight from the source. Well, my sister came over to babysit last weekend so DH and I could get some construction work done on the house and she said Karen refused to take the bottle for anything and just cried the whole time. She wouldn't even take the bottle from me later. She is definitely a booby baby!

Re: does your bf baby
Ava will take it but not very happily. I also noticed she sometimes gags on it. Our first outing was to Wal Mart on Monday and about half way through she was hungry. I had brought along a bottle of EBM but she wouldn't take it. I think because it was too cold. Not sure but anyhow I put her on the boob and sure enough she ate for like 15 minutes!! It's pretty obvious what she prefers.

Re: does your bf baby
I was lucky, both my kids would take the bottle fine. I went back to work on a VERY part-time basis (1 LONG day a week) when both were about 6 months. I would pump that day, and we'd save it for the next day I was at work. We did Avent bottles with the newborn nipples...the same set for both kids and they look practically new, that's how little they got used!
Rob hasn't had a bottle in at least 4 or 5 months. He's a sippy cup expert and has just figured out how to use a straw. DH and I were just saying last night that it's time to put away the bottles again, they're just taking up room in our cupboard!
