Default Does your baby grab???

I'm wondering if anyone else's older (or younger for that matter!) babe has done this.....

Rob likes to grab, squeeze, pinch, and generally claw my right breast while he's nursing. I wondered at first if he was trying to get a faster flow (that tends to be my lower-flow breast) but he seems to be doing it regardless of if he's nursing on that side first, how full I am, how long it's been, etc.....his hand goes to the same spot like a little magnet!

No biggie, except that the area is getting quite sore, to the point where I'm a bit apprehensive about feeding him from that side! I've tried redirecting his hand, and he gets MAD MAD MAD when I do that.

Oh, and when he's on the left side, he plays with his own hair (pretty cute).

Anyone experienced this??? Did anything help? I'm getting kinda excoriated over here......

Thanks!

Eli goes after my bellybutton! It hurts!!! I really don't know what to tell you that will help. Sometimes if I have a drawstring on my pants he will play with that, but not always. And he knows if I say no, to move his hand away from my belly.

oh yes, Joey pinches, pats, waves, 'guards', and so on.....more during 'alert' feedings....he also kicks, kneads my collar bone w/his foot and bicycles his leg.......I have no real advice. You could try a nursing necklace. Joey doesnt get the idea so his is away.

Yep, Oakley's the same way. If my hair's done, he'll play with that, but if not, he's grabbing and pinching everything he can reach.

UGH! Vivian just HAS to knead, pull, and tweak the other nipple while she nurses. It's so irritating, but I can't seem to get her to stop it. It's not so bad when I'm at home, but difficult in public because she just wants to expose both boobs completely so she can have her own way with them. Lots of screaming and screetching ensues when I won't let her have both boobies open, LOL!

a nursing necklace or a special nursing toy may be helpful.

you cna make your own nursing necklace if you'd like, or there are lots of places to buy them online.

the other suggestion would be a special toy for that little handf to hold while nursing., you'll want it to be a soft one so that if arms swing around etc, you don't get smacked in the head and knocked out :giggle

We had a post once about "what your favorite/least favorite thing about BFing" THIS was my least favorite thing, lol.......

Other than the nursing necklace which has already been suggested a few times, I don't really have anything new to offer......although if he's getting really bad (and hurting you) maybe try putting a mitt on his hand.....he shouldn't be able to get it off without the other hand, lol.....maybe it'll be a good distraction or he'll finally get it
