Some babies are sensitive to it. There is caffeine in chocolate, and there are other things (I can't remember, flavenoids maybe?) that irritate some babies. I've never had that problem, and believe me, I eat a LOT of chocolate But neither of my babies have responded to the amount of coffee I drink (1-2 cups of coffee/day).

Hmmm I've never heard of that one either and for some strange reason I've been craving chocolate for the past couple of weeks (I don't usually have a sweet tooth!), it doesn't seem to affect Maia, however if its just the caffeine part then I usually have a couple of coke zero's a day and a cup of tea in the morning and none of that seems to affect her either.

My LO is super sensitive to caffeine and chocolate. she's not usually a spitter, but if I even go near coffee or chocolate, she spits up her entire meal, and then some!

theobromine is what is generally in chocolate, and though it acts similarly to caffeine in terms of stimulating (mildly) some people (whether it be mama or the baby through her milk) it has also been shown to help increase milk supply in many mothers.

lol, it worked for me
