Default Af ?

My baby is 6 weeks old. He is breastfed exclusively. He won't even take a bottle of breastmilk, just me. With my daughter the postpartum bleeding lasted till 10 weeks, with my other son till 8 weeks. I was hoping the pattern would contine and with this boy it only be 6. Well the bleeding had just about stopped over the last couple of weeks. Then a few days ago I started having some cramping. I thought it was just more uterine cramping. The next day I started bleeding again, very heavy and I realized that the cramping I had was the same I always have with AF. I also always have very heavy periods. So I have determined that this is no longer postpartum bleeding, but that I am having a full blown AF. My other son was exclusively breastfed as well and I didn't get AF till he was 9 months old.

Is this normal? Rare but possible? More common than people know? And is it possible/probably that I won't have another AF for several months, or will I start having AF again every month?

Thanks!

Default Re: Af ?

I've heard a few other moms complain of "re-bleeding" around 6 weeks after having stopped.....sometimes for a couple of weeks already. Their OBs said it was just still pp bleeding, not af. I dunno, with you history of longer than average pp bleeding and long delay before af, I would tend to think this was NOT af - but who knows, I guess it can be totally different with each baby. I guess you'll get your answer (or not ) sometime next month.
