I knew this was coming. Actually I would describe it as chewing more than biting. I don't know why this happened, it was 12 at night and we were both half asleep. Those are normally her best nursing sessions. Well when it happened it startled me but I didn't immediately get her off as I was confused but then it just hurt more and more so I stopped her. I got up to check my nipple but I didn't see anything. Well this morning I woke up to my nipple throbbing and a little spot on the underside with puss and a little blood behind the puss, so so sorry for TMI. Well it's still throbbing and very tender to the touch. I had to feed her off it again around 9 b/c it was full and she doesn't take a bottle and it was absolutely excruciating. Do y'all think I need to be concerned about infection since there was some puss? Do I call the doc and ask for a rx of antibiotics? I hate taking them! Will they affect my supply? Help please MamaBear!

That exact thing happened to me with my son... I thought I had thrush bc of the white. It is just a sore. I think you treat it just as you would any other sore.... wash it and keep it clean so it will not become infected. Good luck! I hope she doesn't do it again. I remember oh to well the pain!

Did you keep feeding him on that side while it healed? It is still throbbing and feeding her today on that side has been excruciating. There is just a tiny little sore on the underside of my nipple but it's making the entire boob hurt. I hope it feels better tomorrow.

the antibiotic shouldn't affect supply, but it can lead to thrush...
